The days of remembering moments of the past with ease had come to an end, at least for H/N. You had to reteach him the last five or so years you had known each other.
You hadn't heard him say your name since the day of the accident that caused all of this. It's been almost two weeks and you've dreaded every single one, seeing H/N having to live the way he was.
You sat beside him in his bed and taught him your name. You gave him a brief explanation on how to pronounce it and he nods.
"Say my name~" You told him.
"H/N..?" He answers looking a little absentminded.
You shook your head fighting back tears. "No, that's YOUR name~"
H/N began to cry. "I-I'm sorry, I'm really trying it's just...I'm still in awe at the situation I'm in, how much I'm a burden to all of you. I can't think straight."
"Want to try again later-"
"N-No!" H/N lowers his voice and wipes at his eyes. "I want to try again."
"Okay, my name is Y/N."
"Y/N." He says with great emphasis.
You nod quickly and give him a hug. "You did it."
"..Y/N?"
"Yes?"
"I miss your hugs. How many had you given me over the course of five years?"
"A lot." You tear up silently and held him tighter.
H/N let out a shaky sigh. "M-Maybe...Maybe one day I'll just remember everything."
But until then you would find it hard to tell him how close you two actually were.
In truth, the day of the accident would had been the day you got married to him after three and a half years of dating.
