You were in a hurry to get to school/work on time. You had no time to properly wait to cross the intersection. So with your best judgement, you saw an opening in the traffic pattern and ran as fast as you could to the median.
But you were too slow, a car was just seconds from hitting you fatally when...it never happened. Everything occurred at the speed of light. You were back at the start of the busy road.
But who were you to notice? This present was part of the past of some alternate time that seized to have actually happened yet until now. (Basically time was reversed back to about a minute ago lol)
Suddenly a guy gently grabbed your wrist before you could walk across the busy street once more. Time seemed to stop, just like that. Not in the romantic way, the literal way.
"Now you can walk across. Hold onto me." He says a little too calmly for the unreal nature of your surroundings.
Nonetheless, you and him began to walk normally in the center of a full 360 degrees of frozen time.
"What? What are you?" You had the nerve to ask.
"Human, and then some." He gave you a harmless bright smile.
You looked at him weird and speechless. He took that as his moment to casually explain.
"You see, I like saving people from bad events. Putting it in simpler terms, doing things my way."
