For Thad it was like being accepted by a whole other earth. He froze when you told him he could move in and he was reluctant to answer. 

It wasn't that he didn't trust, or love you Thad was convinced you would regret the decision, that he didn't deserve it. Thinking out loud, his doubts about being a roommate,  a friend or something more.. You heard every word when the elevator doors opened..

" I don't deserve it. I don't belong here. I should've just stayed on my own. You'll be a awful guest... A burden, a speedster that shouldn't be taken in.."
Thad said out loud right before you opened the door and let him in.
