(The the song that is in this chapter ^^)

Empty : containing nothing; not filled or occupied.

That's how Tristan Strings felt this summer.

The sweltering heat spread far and wide, from the wooden floor of his moderately-sized house, the windows stained with dust and what once used to be water, to his treasured guitars and the water in the shower.

Little did he know that today would be the most terrible day of that week, month and possibly the entire year.

"Tristan get your lazy ass out of bed now, don't make me come up there and get you" He let a soft sigh escape his slightly chapped, peachy lips as he lay on his springy bed, the white bed covers had blotches of dried dark red liquid that wasn't originally there in the first place.

The bittersweet, nostalgic smell of books was the only thing Tristan could smell, and it made sense as his room was full of them. On the floor, shelves, there were even books stuffed in his drawers and cupboards where he kept his clothes.

Only wearing his worn out dark blue and white checked pyjama bottoms, he stared at the low-lying ceiling of his dark-blue walled bedroom. Uno by Rex Orange County was blasting through his guitar amp, drowning in his thoughts again. It was a morning ritual of his.

The grating, high-pitched voice that belonged to his mother interrupted his thoughts- "and stop playing that I'm damn music of yours so loud, it's hurting my ears"

Tristan heaved himself off the bed, his fluffy, dark brown hair sticking up awkwardly as he hit his head on the ceiling, sending pieces of plaster flying onto the floor, the white powder that spread in the air causing him to cough and splutter.

"Why did dad have to give me his genes"he mumbled, his hoarse voice echoing in his room as he pondered upon when the last time he measured how tall he was , he was 5"11 but that was two years ago, when he was thirteen.

He stumbled towards his phone and just about grabbed it sloppily, plugging his earphones in to the old machine and blasting his music into his almost-bat like ears.

Is there ever going to be a morning where I wake up and won't question my existence on a daily basis? Tristan thought woefully as he opened up the cherry oak door in the left corner of his room that leads to his bathroom and got ready for the day.

BANG BANG BANG

Mrs. Strings practically attacked the bathroom door, Tristan was surprised that the old door hasn't broken yet.

"Mom I'm ready! Just give me one second to brush my hair" Tristan hollered, plugging his grey earphones back in his ears before he heard his mom again.

He wasn't really brushing his hair. He did that fifteen minutes ago. What he was doing? Trying not to have a mental breakdown as he looked at himself in the mirror.

The only thing he liked about his appearance was his eyes, he had Partial Hetorochromia- less than half of his iris in his right eye was emerald green while the rest of his eye was dark blue. The half moons under his eyes were darker, his lips naturally curls into a frown and his thick, messy eyebrows that somehow looked decent were constantly furrowed.
