Chapter 4:

I was extremely glad that this week's Thursday was free from classes at the police academy. That gave me the opportunity to get a few more hours of sleep before visiting Alpha Christopher.

When I woke up, I was instantly hit with the smell of strawberry pancakes and I realized how thankful I was for my sister's existence. I quickly brushed my teeth, got dressed, put some make up on and followed the voices that could be heard from the kitchen.

My brothers were arguing about which one ate his pancakes faster and Jenna was trying to get them to lower their voices.

"Ah... if it isn't our own sleeping Beauty" Adrian greeted me

"This is the first time ever you woke up before me, little goof" I answered him while grabbing a plate and serving myself. "Everything smells delicious, sis"

"Thank you, Dawn. It's really nice to have at least someone appreciating my effort" she acknowledged with a fake frown causing me to giggle.

"You know we really appreciate your cooking, little sis. I am sorry we haven't told you so in a while... and Dawn... we are very thankful for everything you do for us." Peter said with an apologetic look

Jenna and I shared a look and then burst out laughing at our brother's innocence. Peter was so sweet and he had no idea we were just teasing him.

"I swear, dude, you are just too easy sometimes" Adrian stated amused

"Whatever" Peter huffed "By the way, just because we haven't said a word doesn't mean that we did not notice you with Jonathan last night, little Jenna."

I froze and glanced at Jenna who had a frightened expression on her face. A second later we heard our stupid brothers laughing hysterically and I knew they were just messing with us.

"Omg you should have seen your faces" Adrian exclaimed and grabbed his jacket. Peter stood up and gave us a salute before heading out.

I swiftly found my backpack and followed them "Wait up! You guys are driving to our Alpha's house, right? I have a meeting with him today so let's just take one car." I suggested

"Ok. Let's go."  Adrian said and the three of us headed towards the car.

The car ride was fun for the most part while the boys were fighting about which music station we should listen to. At some point, Peter grew very silent and kept looking outside the window without paying us any attention.

"Peter, is everything ok?" I asked him worriedly. My brother may be shy sometimes but not around his own family.

"I guess" he responds inhaling slowly.

A few more minutes passed before he looked at me threw the mirror with a weird expression.

"Dawn... why are you visiting our Alpha?"  He wonders sounding a bit hurt and... angry?

"I just have some things I must discuss with him. What's the big fuzz about, buddy?" I ask him extremely confused by his behavior

"Have you finally decided on leaving us? Is it about yesterday? Did someone annoy you again...? Because if they did I will have their heads off, I promise you that. You can't just walk away, Dawn. You are stronger than that!" he states obviously irritated and I can't help the smile that spreads on my face

"I am not running away, silly! I would never do that... Our Alpha asked me for a favor and that's the only reason I am meeting with him today. You are seriously unbelievably sweet, you know that?  But have some faith in me... I am not a quitter." I inform him and see him relax a bit
