Continuing Bradley

I found myself waking up on the couch the very next day. It could've been just about the worst sleep of my entire life, but I had a pretty good dream that beats the pain my back is gonna feel for the next week. The house is dead silent and by the time I check the main (accurate) clock in my house I come to find out that it is already three in the afternoon. Irina usually calls me or leave a note when she leaves
while I am sleeping, but not today. I figured she was still mad about last night.

All the lights in the house where off and there was this certain energy in the air that concerned me. It felt like something bad was about to happen and I just didn't know it yet. I get off the couch to go urinate and get ready for the six hours of daylight I have left of today.

Irina usually spends the afternoon hours 12-6 at the business studio doing modeling stuff that I don't understand. I turn towards our bed to see a the sheets and covers thrown over like she left in a hurry. Just as I was about to leave the bedroom out of the corner of my eye I see something on our bed. There was a quarter dark burgundy stain in the spot she sleeps in. I look for other clues that something happened recently and that's when I noticed the phone laying on the floor as if it's been thrown or knocked over.

My heart starts to race as I grab my phone from my pocket and click the contact at the top of the list.

[BOLD-Bradley | Italic-Irina]

Hello?

Are you Okay?!

Why are you asking?

There is blood on the bed and it seems as if you left in a hurry..

Oh... so now you are going to care about me?

Irina..

I am in preterm labor at seven months pregnant.

Where are you.

Good Samaritan Hospital Room 216

I'll be there in less then ten minutes.

-

I hung up the phone and ran down the steps four at a time. Today might be the day I become a father to the child I found out about yesterday. How the fuck was Irina pregnant and I was 100% clueless for seven full months.

As soon as I grabbed my keys and threw on my chanclas I was out the door and already halfway out of my gated community. I didn't care if I got a speeding ticket at this point. My daughter is being born at thirty weeks giving her a harder chance at survival than most babies who are born at forty weeks.

By the time I got to the hospital I felt myself lost. Cameras were flashing like crazy as I jogged to the front door.

How do they know Irina is here?

"Bradley.. Bradley!! Is it true you didn't know she was expecting?" One paparazzi yelled

"Are you and Lady Gaga a thing" A second screamed getting closer to my face

"Is it true you washed fourteen years of sobriety down the drain?" Another yelled

I stopped right in my tracks and turned towards the cameras

I grabbed the first one I saw and threw it as far as I could. Everyone gasped and held their cameras as close to their bodies as they could. Not one word was spoken.

"I'll buy you a new camera" I whispered to the woman who owned the camera that looked on the verge of tears

She nodded her head and I took off running to close the gap between me and the door.

"This is all happening way, way, way too soon" I spoke softly under my breath

I signed into the front desk and got my VIP badge. In a little less than two minutes I was at the door hearing a small yell of pain. When I walked in they were in full action baby mode

Irina laying on the bed with legs spread apart and pushing as hard as she could.

I froze. And all of a sudden there was the tiniest little cry I've ever heard. It was my daughter.

I stood there at the door watching the tiny three-four pound infant being carried away by a nurse. I walk up to Irina and tell he all the things your supposed to-

"Wow you are an amazing, and incredible woman" tears filling my eyes

"Thank you" She has a smile plastered on her face.

"What are we naming her again?"

"Lea.. L... E.. A.." she looked me in the eyes

"Leah without the H?" I asked

"Yes" her voice was smiling

"We are gonna have a diva on our hands" I said hearing the infant yell out when the nurse was weighing and measuring her

She smiled and I noticed something off about it. Her smile seemed forced and terrified. I stared at Irina trying to look for something beyond what her expression was telling me. Nothing.

The nurse wrapped up the baby and was about to take her to the NICU.

"Say goodbye Mama and Dada" the Nurse said with a sweet voice

Me and Irina both watched as she left the room. I took a seat on the Doctors spinney chair and rolled around the delivery suite.

"I am going to try and fall asleep" Irina whispered to me

"Okay"

As I was rolling around the room I came across a Manila folder labeled "Birth Information". It was pretty thin and seemed like a important file, so I went over and took a look at it.

As I was reading I found out everything that went down leading up to the birth.

Called at 4am saying she was in pain and that she had mild bleeding.

Checked in at 8am and was placed in a clinic room.

Doctor said it was normal.

Irina (mother of child) asks for a early Labor Induction.

Doctor denies saying it's too risky.

I reread the last sentence one million times-

Irina offers five thousand dollars for baby to be born at 3.15pm

Doctor accepts.

What. The. Actual. Fuck.

[Oof sorry this chapter is choppy and is spoon feeding :( I was trying to hurry up and let the birth happen since I have so much planned for the future where the baby is actually born. Anyways please keep reading! The first like six or seven chapters are gonna suck lmao]
