Chapter 87.

We pull up to a stop light, and I turn to look in the back seat, seeing Harry sat with Ludo curled up next to him with his head in Harrys lap; laying peacefully while Harry just stares adoringly at him.

I could have exploded, genuinely my body wanted to spontaneously combust when Harry had taken me to Ludos kennel when he got to my work, giving me a serious look and pointing at Ludo.

"He's coming home with us today" he had said firmly, sounding like there was no arguing about it.

I could only blink at Harry, trying to register what he just said; we had, had a conversation about Ludo last night after Harry asked what happens with the dogs over Christmas and if they spent it alone.

I explained that they spend it with the volunteers but it's still sad they don't have families to be with, and I wish all of them had that.

"What? Coming home with us? You mean... Wait, you want to adopt Ludo?" I had asked, double checking before I ran around screaming in excitement and tackling him to the floor.

I've wanted to give Ludo a home since the first time I saw that sad face, but I knew he needed some help first and I just wasn't in the position to take him in that very second, and then with living with Harry I didn't know if he would be ready for a commitment like that.

Harry is dealing with so much, in life and general and his own demons; I wasn't sure if bringing the responsibility of another living thing into the situation was the best thing for that, however, maybe it's what he needs.

I know Ludo needs him, but it's became more and more apparent that Harry needs him just as much.

"If that's what you call it, as long as it means he comes home with us then yeah that's what I want" he said, sounding like his mind was totally made up and giving Ludo a warm smile as he sat at the kennel door, whining eagerly, slapping his happy tail against the floor.

"He's not spending Christmas alone, we're gonna be his family for Christmas" he had added with a determined look.

And that done me in right there - I couldn't contain myself any more. I squealed like a fucking teenage girl, throwing myself at him and jumping to wrap my legs around his hips; my arms around his neck, kissing him frantically and my outburst sent him stumbling backwards in shock before he burst out into giddy laughter.

After a few seconds of messy giggling kissing, that was mostly just teeth clashing together as we tried to kiss through our grinning Harry urged me to hop down back to my feet, looking at me with the brightest elated expression.
