Winters run

I hated when they specifically ask for me, they don't hand over enough but I was in need of some money anyway and I had the perfect reason not to be in the household.

"Don't save me any dinner, I won't be back till late and I'll grab something while I am out"

"Tala!" My mom grabs my arm "you are being rude to our guests!"

"Your guests mom. Not mine"

"You will sit downloading and eat with us"

"And watch you fawn over the Fucking lard buckets? I don't think so"

I yank my arm out of her grip and stalk out the house. Yet she always wonders why dad left her. The same reason I did.

I yank my car boot open and grab my bag before heading into the woods, the park wasn't too far away and it would be a good spot to hit. I was grateful for the local job, didn't mean I had to go traipsing across the country again.

With that in mind I grab my gear and hide the bag under the Bush before heading off into a light jog. The alarm soon came from the city centre which made me stumble.

Stupid aliens and their stupid rules.

When the alarm rang all humans without a stamp were to be indoors. My sister and mother were without a stamp and would be inside for the rest of the night. I was lucky and thanking my stars for my licence which was..... in my pocket, in my jeans, in my bag, under the bed, in the bedroom, at home, five miles away.

Shit!

Let's hope that I don't get caught tonight. That would be a victory if the Damn jullips don't catch me.

The door was knocked three times, three times that made the door rattle and I began to wonder if he was trying to break in. It wouldn't surprise me the jullips were notorious for their b&e before becoming the guard of the country.  The white door with the small stain glass window was only plastic and I was sure the police guard didn't want a bill.

Stupid licence.

"Can I help you?" Came a rough voice from the door.

I looked up in to the green eyes that I had been accustomed to my whole life. "Hi dad, can you tell the moron I have a license and show him the copy I gave you" I wince as his fingers dig in to my arm. "An hour ago would be nice"

Dad didn't show any emotion but indicated for us to come in. Monkey boy drags me in to the house as dad leaves us standing in the hallway as he went in to his office. The purple monkey holding me growled at the stairs and I couldn't help the smile as Lia mai stood on the stairs holding wolfie, her kitten.

The juillip didn't like felines.

"You got in trouble again Tala?" The smile was one of knowing best

"You know it princess" I wink

"What did you do this time?" She walks down the stairs till she stood in front of the monkey and I.

"Miss I would ask you not to associate with the criminal until her documents are found" he was a robot.

"You do know that when you see her license your going to wish you hadn't bruised her? Right?"

He didn't respond, his golden eyes just stared at her like he didn't give two rat bottoms on my job. He will when he see's. Lia began to walk around him and i could hear Wolfe hiss .
