[First chapter rewritten! It's already 811 words longer than the original lol.]

Lieutenant Hank Anderson and Detective Gavin Reed were very well recognized around the DPD, both for different reasons. Anderson for his fantastic detective work and involvement with taking down red ice dealers all over the city, but also for his alcohol addiction and depressive state of mind, and Reed for his ambitious and hard-working motives but also for his spiteful and selfish attitude, his aggression towards everyone, mainly androids, had made him extremely disliked.

The two policemen were known to hate each other's guts, but no one really knew why. Yea they both had their problems, and Gavin was just extremely dislikeable as a whole, but that didn't explain the extreme hostility towards each other.

When Fowler paired the two up on one of the hardest cases to ever exist, everyone was shocked. They were all aware of it before Gavin and Hank were and when the two were called up into Fowler's office, everyone stayed as far away from the little glass room as possible.

"So what's this about?" Hank asked in a huff, crossing his arms over his chest, "And why is that rat here?" He motioned over to Gavin who glared in response and put up his middle finger. Fowler sighed at the two already being hostile, it had only been a few seconds and they already looked like they wanted to rip each other's heads off. Fowler typed something up into the terminal on his desk before turning the screen around so that Hank and Gavin could see.

"This-" he points to the screen, "-Is the hardest case that the DPD has ever been assigned. No one has been able to solve it," Fowler states, letting the two men read the file. Androids all over Detroit and neighboring cities have been taken either from the streets or even from their owner's homes, reports of stolen property related to the case continued to stack up, now amounting to over 5,000 separate cases. There had been reports of rather shady people trying to sell android parts to anyone that was interested. It was assumed that there was some sort of 'android trafficking ring' running in Detroit. Police had been patrolling the streets to try and spot anyone suspicious, but they seemed to slip through the force's grasp every time.

"You two are the best detectives in this department, I want you to work together on this one, no 'ifs', 'ands' or 'buts', I trust that you will push aside your animosity long enough to get this done, or it'll be your badges at risk," Fowler said with a stern look. Hank and Gavin looked absolutely flabbergasted, looking at him as if he'd just grown a leg on his shoulder."

You have to be shitting me, Jeffery! You know how much I hate this prick!" Hank exclaimed, glaring over at Gavin who returned the look.

"The feeling's mutual, asswipe," Gavin growled, leaning his back against the wall.

"As I said, you two are the best detectives in the force, if you two don't start working together you can hand in your badges, end of discussion! Now get out and get working!" Fowler yelled, gesturing for them to leave. Gavin stormed over to the door and opened the door quite harshly, leaving with a loud slam when he shut the door.

"Jeffrey, you know this ain't gonna work, Gavin's a prick! What are you thinking-" Hank was cut off by Fowler raising his hand, a sharp glare on his face.

"Get out, or hand in your badge. Last warning, Anderson," Fowler said lowly without even looking up. Hank considered saying something else, but he wasn't that stupid. He just left without another word, heading back over to his desk. He sat down and logged into the terminal, pulling up the case file. He browsed through the missing android reports, looking at the most recent ones. An AC700, TE600, PL600, KR200 and WR400 were all taken just within the last week. They'd all been last seen in different locations at different times around Detroit, so there was no correlation there. He decided to look through the list of suspected affiliates. There was only one page and it was half full. Hank huffed, this was getting nowhere. He looked more in detail at each profile and was disappointed to find most of them were either dead or already in prison. One profile stood out though. A woman called Joanna Sterling was listed as a suspected dealer, she was still alive and wasn't in prison. Her address was listed in the file so Hank typed it up into google maps to check it out. From what he could see it was a rather nice house, not really very discreet like he would've expected.
