A smile of understand,
a teasing wink.
Just the simple reminder
of who I am
and what I'm all about.
This doesn't mean it'll never happen.
It's a beginning,
a chance to get to know myself
before I get to know him.
One day,
maybe soon,
I'll meet him
and my life will be one step forward.
Best friend and him put together;
that's what I'm looking for,
what my heart is searching for.
A longing, sure.
A new hope and realization, absolutely.
Just a smile
before I wake up
to remind me.
