And if one was to reach out
Only to find nothingness
Left with nothing to hold for
Left to fall aloneOne would not reach again
Not ever
For the fear would be too great
The risk too highBut what about the one who left
The one who saw the hand coming
And hid among the shadows
The one who was already afraidDoes anybody ever ask for their side
Of course not
Why would you
They let you fall
They do not deserve itAnd yet they still exist
And once someone will ask
And find out the truth
How the hands we reach for may look great
But are full of scars
And have been held
And let go
So many times
And are now scared everyone will let go
So it's just easier no never get held again
