Rachel's pov
It's Braydens first birthday, me and Finn have been planning this day for over 3 weeks now and we are taking the day off of school.. we both get out of bed and run towards Braydens room but we quietly open the door and we see a sleeping baby it's currently 9am so it's unusual that he is still sleeping we then walked to his crib to wake him up
"Bray bray wake up" I said down to him, we saw him open his eyes and have a big smile on his face, I pick him up and we start singing while walking downstairs not noticing finn recording me
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Brayden happy birthday to you" we sang in unison then kissing his face
"What does the birthday boy want for breakfast?" Finn asks him
"Pancwkes" Brayden said to his dad with a smile
Finn starts his breakfast since he is the master of pancakes, I start mine and Finns which will be a fruit salad and oatmeal I'm looking at our son in his high chair
"Mama" Brayden whispers
"Yes?" I whisper back
I see him point to the fruit that I'm cutting up I look back at finn and sneak him a couple pieces of watermelon and strawberry plus pomegranates he does a little clap and I get back to cutting up more fruit and get the oatmeal from the fridge since we made overnight oats, I see finn finish plating up his pancakes and bacon that are all cut up in tiny pieces
"Where did you get that fruit?" Finn says to him, Brayden points towards me
"Hey he asked and fruit is good for him" I told him putting our food in front of us
"Before the party tonight how about we have a family day in because daddy needs a nap" finn laughed while stuffing his face
"Finn we woke up 30 minutes ago" I said to him
Once we are done eating it's time for Braydens nap so finn takes him back upstairs as I clean up a few minutes later I'm in the living room on my phone posting Braydens happy birthday post on Instagram it says ' happy birthday to my little man who I love very much, thank you for everything you have brought light and joy to mine and your fathers life now don't grow up fast I love you Brayden Christopher Hudson' then again on Snapchat, i want his day to be extra special.
It's party time!! Everyone is here and right now it's acting like a friends moment except that everyone doesn't have to leave, Brayden is still napping in his room he was very very cranky today for no reason I take a quick look at the baby monitor to see him waking up
"He's awake finn" I said towards my husband
We both walk upstairs to go get our son "we have special guests downstairs for your birthday" finn said picking him up we walked downstairs as a little family to start unwrapping his gifts to just have a great time with our family, he got so many toys and clothes now it's time for cake
"Okay Brayden here is your very first cake don't eat it ye-" I was cut off my Brayden sticking his whole hand in the 'smash cake' we all start laughing at what action he just did
"Happy birthday Brayden we love you" me and Finn said together
Best birthday party ever.. even though this will be our last a 'happy family'
