// Lindy’s POV //

I walked out of my closet, wearing the birthday dress my mom decided to buy for me. I grabbed my black heels from the closet, while setting them in front of me. I sighed, as I finally slipped my feet slowly in the expensive black shoes. Once they were finally secured on my feet, I stood up slowly. I walked slowly to my mirror, careful not to fall on my face. I looked at my reflection, smiling at the birthday girl. My hair was in elegant curls, which fell in front of my chest perfectly. My makeup was done by Lizzie, making my eyes pop out more than usual. My dress was a lace, cream colored, sleeveless dress. To add a bit of my style to the dress, I added a dark brown belt to make it stand out. I smiled and then frowned again, remembering Harry ignoring me.

What’s gotten into him? Did I do something wrong?

I walked out of my bedroom, getting ready to walk down the wooden stairs. I heard everyone talking loudly downstairs and then stop as soon as I was making my way down the stairs. I put on my best believable smile, while holding onto the stair rail. My mom took out her camera, taking a million pictures a minute. Lizzie was smiling, while taking a video of me walking. Harry had his hands in his pocket, not looking at me. My smile fade, but I kept smiling for the pictures and videos. Once I reached the last step, my mom hugged me tightly, not letting me go.

“My God! You look beautiful, darling!” She exclaimed, making me twirl in a circle for her.

I shyly smiled, glancing over at Harry a lot of times. He wasn’t joining our conversation. He was just standing a couple feet away, keeping his hands in his pockets and staring at my carpet. I left my mom’s grip, leaving her to go to the kitchen and set up the cake. I went up to Harry, tugging on his white buttoned up shirt. I smiled at him, hoping that I was just wrong about him being upset with me. He looked at me, mumbling, “Nice dress.” I shrugged, looking down at the expensive lacey cloth hugging my body. I grabbed his hand, squeezing it to make him smile. His lips didn’t move at all. He just kept his lips in a straight thin line, not bothering to hold my hand. I let go of his hand, eyeing the curly haired boy.

“Okay, what’s going on, Harry?” I asked, desperate to know why his mood changed dramatically while I showered.

“Oh, so now you care. What do you want from me?” He coldly responded, leaving me alone in the living room.

I didn’t bother to look back. My chest tightened and my throat burned. Is it possible for guys to get their period too? I was about to walk back and chase after Harry, until the doorbell starting ringing a dozen times a minute. I groaned, quickly walking to the front door. I looked in the peephole, seeing Louis and the rest of the gang behind him, grinning. I smiled, quickly unlocking the door. Once the door opened, a burst of noise exploded in my house. All of us got in a group hug, squeezing me until my sides hurt.

“What are you guys doing here?!” I exclaimed in surprise in between our hug.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDY!” Everyone yelled.

I guess that explains that. I giggled, hugging everyone individually now. Niall took out a bunch of party blowers, making a ton of noises for the whole neighborhood to hear.

“Bring on the drinks!” Zayn and Niall cheered, while blowing into their party bowers.

I turned to them, giving them a look. They understood the message I was giving them, their grins fading. They sighed, now putting the cooler full of beer away. I smiled, feeling successful with myself.

“Looks like we’ll just have soda and juice. . . “ They muttered to themselves, while putting the cooler away back in the van.

Eleanor, Danielle, and Perrie looked at me, admiring my dress. They were in love with my dress as much as I was. When Zayn and Niall came back, they returned with bags and boxes from the van. I gasped, asking what all of them were for. They looked at me like I was dumb, while settling them on the ground.
