Amber's POV
~
The stubs of my fingers were stinging from how much nail I bit off.
I was pacing around in the Greenview Hospital waiting room, waiting for news about Lily.
No one else was here for Lily. Her grandparents have all passed away. Her mom wasn't even here!
A door creaked open, and I spun around.
"Lily's relatives and friends? Please come with me." She said, then looked up from her clipboard.
"Are you over eighteen?" She asked.
"No..." I answered, not knowing why she needed to know this.
"I'm sorry but we can't let you see her. We've added new rules for minors. All severely injured patients are not to be seen if you are under eighteen." She explained.
My heart skipped a beat. Severely injured? Oh my God.
"You don't understand! I'm her best friend. I need to see her! I need to!" I pleaded.
She just shook her head.
I slumped down into a chair and began to cry.
"She's in a coma." I heard her whisper.
I looked up at her.
"Her mom is dead. Lily ran into her car and her mom ran into a tree." Her blue eyes began to shed tears, as mine did too.
"My daughter did the same. She...she committed suicide, then my husband did too." She cried.
"Lily has a 3% chance of making it through her coma. I'm trying everything I can to not let another suicide of a pretty, young child happen again." She burst into tears and shut the door.
I closed my eyes.
"Lily... Please come back."
Lily's POV
~
16 lilies were in a vase.
"Happy birthday to you, Lily!" My mom cheered!
"Happy birthday sweetie." My dad smiled, and took my hand.
He put a few items in my hand.
I uncapped my hands to reveal car keys.
A cute, brown haired boy pushed me against a wall, and gently touched my cheek.
"I love you, Lily." He smiled.
Then he kissed me.
A newly born baby lay in my arms, sleeping.
A new baby girl, a blessing.
Then she opened her eyes.
A casket lay on the ground with flowers on top.
He was 17 when I met him, and we grew old together until he was 89.
Our love is everlasting.
A car hits a girl, then slams into a tree.
Two parents die.
One kid is on the brink of death.
