Chapter Four

~7 Hours Earlier, At Yesterday's School Lunch~

"Hey Lily, you know what?" Amber dropped her bag of chips with her eyes wide.

"What?" I asked, hoping for something good.

"You dropped your cup of chili on Ruby's shoes!" Amber laughed.

"Yeah so? It was an accident! She understood it too!" I said.

Amber was basically in tears!

"No she wasn't! She was trying to control herself. Omg Lily! She's getting you back!" Amber explained.

I stayed silent. Yes, yes! That was it!

I lay in my bed in the dark of my room thinking of my idea.

Would it work?

I decided to take a shower and think about it more.

The window clipped open, but I didn't hear it because of the shower.

The intruder went past the shower and into the towel closet.

I still didn't know it was here. Luckily, I had a towel and went straight to my room and put on pajamas.

I went to sleep, ready to put my idea into action.

The intruder removed my covers and snapped a few photos of my Elmo one-piece that still fit me.

The next morning, I found my window ajar.

I was sure my mom did it.

Buzzzzzz.

My laptop alarmed me, so I grabbed it and checked.

More Velocity stuff.

I scrolled through feeds of students with a sad expression until I found one on me.

Lily Kroger: Elmo Lover

Again, Lily is having an embarrassing time. Last night, someone caught Lily wearing Elmo Jammies!

I burst into tears.

At school, Ruby confronted me. I was already having a tough day, and my idea was ruined. But now, Ruby.

"Elmo pajamias?" She snorted.

I looked at the floor.

"Awwhhhh, is someone wanting her childhood back?" Ruby made a puppy face and then laughed. Her group of followers laughed along.

My eyes geared up. More people were gathering to watch.

"Omg! I just found out that Elmo is like so in right now. Looks like you've got the style. Hahahah for babies!"

Everyone around laughed.

"My dad gave them to me before he died! Its my last piece of him!" I cried, not caring about anything.

Ruby didn't say anything.

I ran. I exited the school, and ran.

I texted Amber.

Knife, rope, or highway? I'm done.
