Hypercreative 17 year old Anglo-Chinese high school student Olivia Yang is talented at Art but has problems with Science and suffers from dyslexia. After a stressful day at school and an argument with her mother, she goes for a walk with her dog Jessie on Alderley Edge, the mystical wooded hill in Cheshire, North West England, and meets a princess from Ancient China who becomes her mentor. Olivia improves but there are many obstacles along the way, including the kidnapping of her father in an unnamed dangerous country.
