ONE WEEK HAS GONE BY FAST, I wasted my time by studying for upcoming tests or keeping myself locked in my room laying beneath the covers with Netflix on. There was another party and Marianna insisted that I should attend but I came up with a lie that I felt sick. I could tell she didn't believe my little white lie on the other side of the phone, but I was glad when she went along with it wishing me well.

Matthew hasn't spoken to me ever since the next morning after the Halloween party we had at Sammy's house. The only time he would come out of his room is when he would have class. There were some times where I stayed in the living room just to wait for him to step out of his room. I tried to apologize to him and talk to him, but he would ignore me as if I wasn't there at all.

I gave up on some point. I respected his decision. If he doesn't want to talk to me, then I won't talk to him. I couldn't help but feel lonely and empty without him. I felt like I was living alone in this big apartment. I would be lying if I said I didn't miss us hanging out by the TV or him sliding over a napkin filled with marshmallows from the cereal Lucky Charms across the table. Never in my life, I thought that I would miss his presence but I do and it sucks.

It's a Friday afternoon and I'm stuck at work. I was suppose to leave like an hour ago to carpool with Marianna and Nate, but I told them to just go without me and I'll drive there myself because I knew I wasn't coming home anytime soon.

I asked my boss if I could leave early, but he wasn't in a great mood so he yelled at me and told me I needed to stay until my shift is over. I wanted to yell at him for yelling at me, but I needed this job to be able to have a roof over my head. So I politely nodded my head and continued working until seven o'clock which was the usual time my shift ends.

I rushed home, running up the flight of stairs instead of waiting for the damn slow elevator. I was panting heavily when I reached my door, jogging towards my front door. I cursed at myself when I accidentally dropped my keys on the floor as I tried to find the right key to unlock the door. Before I could insert the key, the front door has already been open by Matthew.

"Oh." I cleared my throat, not expecting him to still be here. Everyone from the group left a few hours ago, so why is he still here? I looked around the apartment for Hailey but she was nowhere to be seen meaning he's alone.

"You're late." He said with a cold tone. He stepped aside, letting me in.

"Yeah, I got caught up with work." I gulped, running towards my room to change out of my uniform and into clean clothes. I already packed my clothes and my belongings the other day so I was glad I didn't have to waste more time on stuffing clothes in my bag. "Are you not going?" I was still panting. I walked out of my room minutes later with my bags and phone in my hand. He was seated on the couch, scrolling on his phone. I stared at him for a while waiting for a reply but when he doesn't, I sighed slipping on my shoes.

"I'm going but I was told to wait for your late ass." I ignored the pain in my chest.

"I'm sorry." I apologized softly. "I tried to leave but my boss wasn't in a good mood and insisted that I should stay—" He rudely interrupts me, not wanting to listen for what I have to say which annoyed me.
