Desi's POV- October 2018

A frown appeared on Marisol's face as I leaned over and fixed her beanie so her ears were covered.

"I'm okay"

I hummed and went on to adjust her scarf.

"The coughing attack begs to differ" I stated.

The Dodgers were currently leading 2-1, and it was too early to tell who would be headed to Boston after the game. Cody had actually hit a two-run home run during the last inning, and a coughing attack prevented Mari from fully celebrating the runs.

"Here, drink up, but slowly"

Mari took the water bottle that Noel was handing to her.

"Thank you"

Noel smiled at her before taking a seat next to me.

"Sorry I took so long, there was a really long line"

She turned her attention to the field and froze a bit when she did not see Chris in Second Base. Her shoulders relaxed a bit when she found him in left field.

"So are you and my brother okay?"

I bit the inside of my cheek and shrugged.

"Can I know what he did?"

I found myself laughing at her question.

"I know I'm assuming it was him, but it was him, right?"

"We just had a small disagreement," I told her.

If the Dodgers won tonight, they would be headed to Boston and he wanted me to join him. I declined the offer because I had not asked for the days off. No matter how much I emphasized that his thick skull was could not comprehend it and it was starting to piss me off.

"About?"

"It's as if he forgets I work, and can't make it to every single game" I replied.

She frowned.

"He is certainly replaceable, but your job isn't"

I bit the inside of my cheek as I nodded.

"But please don't break up with him, I actually like you"

 I couldn't help but laugh.

"And you're in love with him, right?"

Unfortunately.

"Even when he's acting like a butt" I noted.

She smiled and leaned a bit on me.

"He's just stressed"

I know he was, but that gave him no right to take it out on me.

"He hasn't yelled at you, right?"

I shook my head.

"Okay, good cause if he does just walk away"

"I have zero patience left" I admitted.

"I'm sure of it, but he'll be back to his normal dweebish self once the season was over"

I sighed.

"I guess" I noted.

"I take it you two are arguing about this frequently?"

"Yup" I answered.

"I can tell mom, so she can talk it out with him?"

"I'd rather not add someone else to this problem" I responded.
