Guilt

At an early age I was convinced that in order to make friends you had to ask them the phrase "Wanna be my friend?" and the rest was up to them. When I moved to a new school I had a total list of five friends within the first week of being the new kid. Friends who I thought would be in my life forever. They don't remember me anymore but I remember them.

I believed friends could never hurt you the way lovers did. I learned later on that it can hurt just as much.

With that, I discovered friends fight. We say things in order to feel superior, to feel in control. Friends also make up. However, friends don't destruct you in order to satisfy themselves. They don't make you feel that you have to change in order to be socially accepted.

Most importantly they never make you feel guilty for doing what makes you happy.

Do not surround yourself with people that make you question your self worth.
