Chapter 1: Paradise lost.

Day: 1 ○ Morning

"I've had many dreams. I've had many nightmares. But I've never had one like this before. I'm not even sure what to categorize this one as, it's on a whole new league."

The sun danced through the leaves upon a weary creature. An orange narrow back clad in fur glistened, staggering up in a stupor. Arms and legs covered in soot black fur with dull claws. The chest of what appeared to be of a lean human man, but was also covered in a creamy white patch of fur reaching up to his neck. He wore absolutely nothing and was exposing his parts to the wind. His thoughts raced as he looked to the skies with his round dark blue eyes.

"Where the hell am I?"

He reached his hand to his face and flinched upon seeing his fuzzy black hand. His groggy gaze widened into shock and terror.

"What!? Is this.. me?"

In disbelief he began shouting while he sat helplessly on his knees.

"H-heeeey! Is anybody out there?! Anyone!?"

He fell back and looked down his furry body and began to huff and shiver at the sight of his changed body. He looked away and tried once more to stand to his feet, trying to adapt to his new hindquarters. His pointed ears tucked to the back of his head like thick daggers. Then He shuffled about like a newborn trying to walk upright for the first time.

It took him several minutes just for him to cross a few feet. His mouth grew parched and dry from exhaustion. His long and pointed nose twitched as he caught scent of water in the distance.

"Wait, I can smell water? What am I? Am I some kind of dog?"

He muttered to himself as he followed the scent trail. After all, he saw no other option since it's all he had to go by. He observed the odd alien surroundings. Trees that glistened with green leaves that possessed navy blue undersides.

Blood-red rocks scattered all about the landscape, seemingly out of place from the rest of the surrounding area. Many of these vistas seemed similar to what he was familiar with. The emerald green grass and the rolling slate mountains were the only recognizable thing that gave him comfort.

<flap! flap!>

Long necked creatures that appeared to be brightly feathered birds, soared high up in the sky. There were sounds of small critters fleeing from his presence also. Other then that, the land seemed vacant of larger sized wildlife as he moved forward. He wasn't sure what dangers to expect, but he remained vigilant as he pressed forward.

He eventually heard flowing water as his ears perked up. He felt reinvigorated from the sound and began to stumble forward in excitement.

A cristal clear flowing river became visible in the distance. He practically fell forward before the call of it's blissful radiance. He stopped for a moment and gazed at water from the distance. He realized that he'll see his own face for the first time. He was hesitant, not sure if he wanted to see himself as he is right now.

The wind blew gently as he laid forward and struggled to move. He finally reached the water and saw the creature looking back at him. His mind thrashed about in a panic.

"Wait.. I'm a fox? This.. how is this possible? And why the hell am I in the middle of nowhere?"

His eyes darted about in paranoia and disbelief. He refused to accept this as reality. Staggering about, he eventually stood tall on his back feet after finding a tree to lean against. His eyes latched to the sky above that slowly became darker. The sun began to set and emitted a beautiful bright orange that illuminated his fur coat. His ears raised, hearing cries of wild creatures in the distance.
