I wipe the water out of my eyes.

"Mom!" I yell, covering my body with the shower curtain.

No response.

"Mommmmmm!" I screech.

"Savannah, your Mom left." It's Liam at the bathroom door.

"Okay, can you get me a towel?"

"What?" he asks.

"Can you get me a towel!" I repeats.

"I can't hear you over the steam vent." He says loudly.

"Open the door!" I exclaim.

It doesn't matter. He's my best friend. He could see me naked for all I care, it's not like it means anything to him either.

Besides, the shower curtain is covering me.

I hear the door open, and then his head peeks in.

"Oh shit." He yanks his head back and I hear his forehead slam against the door jam. "You're naked!"

"So? The curtain has me covered." I say.

"What do you need?" he asks. He still won't look in here. I roll my eyes.

He's such a baby.

"I need a towel."

"Where are they?" he asks.

"In the laundry room."

He shuts the door all the way.

A few minutes later, the door opens enough for him to stick his arm in and he holds out a blue towel.

I take it from him, my wet fingers grazing his hand slightly.

"Thank you." I say.

"You're welcome."

He shuts the bathroom door and I begin drying off.

When my body is dry, I wrap the towel in my hair and pull on my robe.

I gather my dirty clothing from my floor and walk out of the bathroom.

When I come back, Liam is sitting on my bed.

"I need to get dressed." I say.

"Alright." He grumbles.

He walks out of the room and closes the door behind him.

I grab my bottle of lotion and start lathering up my body.

When that's done, I pull on a bra and my white work shirt that says Magnolia Ice Cream and Treats.

I pull on some panties and a pair of jeans, and then I brush my wet hair out and throw it up into a bun.

I put on my non-slip work shoes, grab my phone and the Duke letter, and walk out of the bedroom.

Liam is on his phone scrolling through Instagram when I reach the living room.

"Did my Mom say where she was going?" I ask.

"Nobody was here when I got here." He shrugs.

I sigh and unlock my phone, texting my Mom.

Me: do you want me to wait for you to open the letter or can I just open it with Liam

Mom: you can open it with him but when you get home from work I want to see it, don't tell me the result

Me: okay

I sit down beside Liam with the letter.

"I'm nervous." I tell him.

He locks the screen of his phone and sighs.
