Chapter 10 accident

Start from the beginning

"Okay." "See you later," Zo says kissing my cheek.  I get my keys off the counter and walk Skylar out to the car.  We get closer to the building and I notice the paparazzi are already out and feel a little nervous. "When we get ou the car I want you to hide your face alright?" I glance in the rearview. "So the camera guys won't see me?" She asks curiously. "Exactly."  I pull into the lot and park and quickly unbuckle her seat belt before lifting her up as she tucks her face in the crook of my neck and goes in the building. "Why are there so many people?" She asks once we get inside.  I want to try to explain but shrug it off. "Nothing to worry about, now  you have to be really quite so daddy can rehearse okay?"

"Can I sing along?" " Yeah but not too loud okay." I set her down on the couch and set her backpack with her toys and blanket beside her.  She watches me closely as I go through the songs. Halfway through rehearsals, Zoë comes by to pick Skye up for hockey and she's upset about it. "Can I come to another one of your practices?" She asks. "Of course, now you should go so your not late to hockey," I say looking over at Zoë who's looking at her watch. "Okay, I love you!" She says giving me a hug.  "Love you too."   I watch the two of them leave and smile.  A few hours later I'm done with rehearsal for the day and am looking over the list of places I'm playing and freeze when I see Madison Square Gardens and I can hardly contain my excitement. I immediately call Zoë to tell her the news. I stop and check my calendar to make sure she's not doing her finals but see my schedule is clear so I proceed in calling her.

"Did you already drop Skye off?"

"Yep,   and I'm about  to head home, what's up?"

"I'm playing Madison Square Gardens!" I scream.

"Wait what?" I repeat myself and she squeals on the other line. "I want you and Skye to be there, I've always wanted her to come to a show and that would be the perfect opportunity! I also have an apartment in New York that we can stay at what do you say?"

"I'd love to, what is the show?"

"July."

"That's.. oh my god a month away!"

"I know, we can look at plane tickets tonight okay?"

"Sounds good, see you when you get home." I hang up and let out a sigh, That week is going to be amazing.

I get home to see Zoë on sitting on the couch on her computer. "Looking up flights?" She jumps as I sit next to her. "I am, the little one is  at hockey practice so I have some time to spare." She says. "I can go pick her up if you want." She smiles a little. "That would be great, I found tickets for like two hundred."

"Zoë we can take a private plane to New York," I say. "I don't want Skye to grow up and think she's spoiled." She says.  "Look at you being a good parent," I say and look at the list of plane tickets. "Also I was thinking if you have time we can go site see, we will be there during Skye's birthday and I want it to be special." She says. "That's right! I'll ask my tour manager I'm sure I can have a free day with you." She says. "Also I told my mom and she said she would love to go."

"Great my parents are going too."  "I'm booking this flight hold that thought." She says and looks at the screen intently. I see her phone buzz on the table and see it's her alarm and shut it off. "I'm going to pick Skye up."  "Ok, can you hand me my wallet? It's on the counter." I grab her wallet and hand it to her before getting my phone and keys and leave.

Zoë POV

I  shut my laptop satisfied and call my mom.

"Hey, how are you?"

"Good, I just got Skylar and I's ticket to go to New York. "Oh right, when is that again? I'll try to check on some flights tonight."

"It's  the week of Skye's birthday." I hold the phone with my shoulder as I look through the fridge trying to figure out dinner. "Is dinner ready?" Skye asks running into the kitchen. "In a minute, you want to take a bath first?

"Am I smelly?" She asks. I pinch my nose and make a face. "Just a touch." Skye huffs before running upstairs. "I haven't been to one of her practices in a while and I have to say, the girl is good." He says. "She learned from the best." I smile. "Need help with dinner?"  He asks leaning against the counter. "Not right now, can you make sure she's taking a bath and not watching a princess movie?" I ask. He laughs and nods before heading upstairs.

During dinner, we tell Skye the news that were going to New York and she drops her fork and squeals in excitement. "I get to see you actually play a concert! That's so cool!" Zoë smiles watching our daughters enthusiasm."This is going to be the best summer ever!" She says. " I leave in a few weeks but you and mommy will meet me in New York."

"Wait were not going together?" Her hopes fall. "I'll be starting the tour by then, but I will see you there and we can site see and stuff." She perks up at this. "Will you face time me before every show until I see you in New York?"

"Absolutely," I say. "Can I be excused?"  "Finish your broccoli," Zoë says. Skye whines and finishes the three remaining pieces all the while glaring at Zoë. "Okay you can go." She jumps up  "Plate in the dishwasher." Zo says. "Right!" She grabs her plate and scurries into the kitchen before going upstairs.  "Good to know she's excited about this." I laugh."Oh, she's going to have a ball." She says. "Well I have some emails to reply to, I'll be upstairs."  "Ok, I'll be down here." I get my plate and head to the kitchen.
