Zoë POV

After talking to Shawn yesterday I'm a bit worried if anyone will stop Skye and me when we're out. He sounded so upset and I feel bad that I'm the reason for it. " Mommy?" I glance over to where Skye is standing on the stairs. " Yes?" " Why is daddy away all the time? What is his job?" She sits next to me on the couch. " Daddy is a musician,"I explain. "Like he sings and stuff?" She asks, I nod. "So he travels to sing to other people?" Skye asks again her eyes wide.  " Yeah that's it and sometimes he doesn't come home for a while." I explain."He will come home though right?" She asks her voice going up in pitch her big eyes focused on me.

" Yeah, he will." She smiles and leans against me. "You want to go to the zoo or something?"  Her eyes light up. " Yes! "Go upstairs and get dressed ok?" She jumps off the couch and bolts upstairs. I laugh a little and pick up my phone and see a notification from Twitter from a user I don't know.

Now, this all makes sense! Shawn has a kid and has been hiding it from us? I know I've seen him with the little girl all the time. I'm not mad about it, if anything I think it's really cute.  Congrats to him and Zoë.

I smile at the message expecting it to be a mean one. Maybe the fans will take this better than I thought, but  I know they're heartbroken I would be the same way if I was one of them. "Ready to go?" Skye asks jumping off the last stair and running over to me. " Let me get my purse. " she nods happily and sits on the couch. I laugh at her enthusiasm and go up to our room and feel a little sad knowing Shawn won't be home for a few months. I send him a quick text before getting my things and loading Skye into the car.  We have a fun day at the zoo, she loves the lions and the giraffes.

Shawn POV

I'm on a plane home to surprise Skye and I'm so excited.  I text Zoë before the plane takes off. Hours later I'm in a car driving on to my street and I feel giddy with joy. I  can't get out the car fast enough and practically run up to my front door and slide my key in the front door that I push open with my shoulder. "Skye go downstairs." I hear Zoë say. I close the door quietly behind me. She runs down the stairs stopping on the last one her eyes big as she looks at me in shock. "Hi, sweetheart."

"Daddy! Your home!" She squeals running over to hug me. I laugh getting down on my knees and hug her tightly. "Oh my gosh you're really here!" She hides her face in my neck making me laugh. "I heard there is a special dance on Friday night that you will be attending?" She pulls away her eyes bright. "Yes! I didn't think you would be home so I was going to stay home and watch Frozen with Mommy." Zoë leans against the railing and smiles. "Well, that sounds fun. "Zoë rolls her eyes and pretends to gag at the thought of watching Frozen for the fourteenth time this year. "But now I can go to the dance instead! Oh my gosh, I even got a princess dress!  It's  rose gold, She cups  her little hand around my ear and whispers,  "That's a fancy way to say pink." She backs away smiling. "I can show you my dress if you want." She sways back and forth her hands behind her back. "I would love to see your dress."

"Yay I'll go get it!" She runs up the stairs past Zoë who's smiling. "I'd kiss you but I can't reach." She jokes. I roll my eyes and lift her up making her squeak. "Better?" I ask laughing. She nods before placing her lips on mine."Nice to see you home." She says. "I've missed you but you knew that."   I  carry her over to the couch and set her down before sitting next to her only to feel her head on my shoulder.

"I missed seeing you Zoë." She smiles against my lips. "Mommy, can you zip this for me?" Oh, you were kissing!" Skye says excitedly. Zoë laughs and follows Skye up to her room while I go to the kitchen to find some food.

I walk into the school and feel like I'm not wanted. All the PTA moms are glaring at me as Skye leads me inside seeming oblivious to the tension. I'm the youngest parent there and for that, I'm being judged. "You want some punch?" Skye asks tugging on my tie to get my attention. "Sure."   I follow her to the table and look around the gym full of dads and daughters. "You know putting your kid in the limelight is bad parenting, right?" A mom says as she gets some punch. "I don't put her in the limelight, and also taking pictures of kids that are not your own is bad parenting. I know someone took that picture and posted it."  The mom sips her drink and rolls her eyes. "People here know who you are, your barley twenty and you have a kid?" Skye looks over at me and smiles.  I want to say something so bad but know I shouldn't get into a fight with a mom right now. I excuse myself and follow my daughter to the dancefloor trying to forget about all these judgemental parents.  Skye is brimming with happiness as we get on the dance floor. A few songs pass when I hear the familiar notes of Let it Go and laugh at all the little girls burst out into song, Skye included who looks at me. "You know the words right?"
