I go inside and it was almost empty. I headed straight to the counter and asked for 2 bags of flour and gave the money. Using some of my own, I decided to have a light bite and take a rest. There were two business dressed gentlemen on the other side of the establishment and they were talking too loudly. At first, I didn't really care.
"But, oh, that Demar family though. They're screwed as hells!"
That was when my attention was caught.
"That's true oh right! Their business will be going in shambles soon enough. That Helena has been on a downfall since last year!"
"Yes, they have been. But, I heard they were partnering with the Bootes' shindings."
"Bootes? That's an immediate mistake. Anyone knows signing investments with them will be a full hole of bull."
I lose interest in the conversation. As horrid as this may sound, it's not really mine to deal with it. And, I guess, Helena finally gets her consequences because of that stupid Jonathan guy he's been mingling with. I go outside, back to the quiet and the songbirds.
I walk back to the house and finally see Gregg. He notices me and waves joyfully. I smile back. I go inside and give the flour pouches to Suzie and head back outside.
"Good day, Mr. Gregg. You just woken up?" I greet.
"Allo again, Tom! Ah no. No, I was dealing with," He coughs, "with something but I'm here now!"
"Okay then, any way I can help out?"
We then chattered for a long time, like before. Our conversation circled around Hallie again, too. He mostly informed me about all their adventures. He mentioned that when the Demar family had the time, they would travel around the world. Since the father is a pilot it was definitely much easier and fun.
Gregg tells some of the stories he heard and found out. So now, I also know some weird information. They have been in all the continents by now. Mostly Italy, about every single year on Winter season. Sometimes, Helena has business trips to other countries and just bring Hallie along. One time, she even got lost in Athens.
"Woah, that's a whole other adventure she hasn't been telling me."
"Yeah, well. Right now, things can sure be different. Different but forward, atleast."
"Mhm. Well, do you think I could see pictures of them or something?"
"Not too sure, no."
Come to think of it, I haven't seen any computer since I got here. Or any form of technology for that matter. Man, I should have bought my laptop. I can probably easily find their accounts online and find some pictures there. Not to brag, but I have my share of decent stalking abilities. After working and talking some more on the garden, I decided to go back inside around lunch.
I wanted to make lunch for Hallie, but I don't have my phone to contact Lisbeth, so I'm practically useless. I slide the normal fancy cuisine again. But when I did, I heard it smacked something inside which may be the other tray. Huh, she didn't eat at all. Have they been talking since morning?
I knock and spoke aloud, "Lunch time!" There were no response. I put my ear near the door and all I hear was laughter and muffled words. That's another medal. I stand up and go upstairs in boredom.
I reach the third floor and pass by the trophy room to enter the infamous hallway. It's the same old two signs of the library and the private cinema. I check the library, there's bound to be a computer there somewhere.
I go inside and walk around some more than last time, and at the very back which is unseen—bingo. This is not the typical white cubed retro computer in schools, it's an entire iMac Computer. It looked heavenly. God Bless. I took a peak behind me, just in case and then opened it up. It's still working.
