September 8.
I woke up to my rooster alarm in full surprise. The volume was maxed out. Looks like someone changed my alarm ringtone. I slept outside her door, again. I check to my right and there were no notes. Just the dinner tray I didn't recieve last night. I take it and place it downstairs.
I kept yawning and was barely awake so I almost bumped into someone.
"Goodmorning, Tom. May I take that for you?"
"Gerald." My eyes lit up and I've woken up. I hand the tray to him, "Where were you yesterday?"
Gerald avoided my gaze and cleared his voice, "I took my leave, sire. And, I was present in doing outside chores."
"Ah, I see." I nodded suspiciously. Before leaving, he hands me my check and I thank him.
Then, I came back to yawning. I went over the kitchen and find the chef. We just stare each other for a solid five seconds until I ask, "Can I have some coffee?"
——————————
This has got to be the best damn coffee I've ever had. After taking the best warm bath, and trying the bath bomb for the first time, I was chilling in the living room. I was also eating the best toast ever. I checked my social media and Lia messaged me again yesterday, "Hallie is my new best friend. Thanks for the idea, didn't think it worked lol. I hope you're doing okay."
At least she doesn't know what's happened yesterday. After watching some videos, I got spotted by Jess with an annoyed mood. She put her hand on her waist and said, "What do you think you're doing?"
I shrugged.
"You, my friend, are slacking on the job." She grabbed my arm and pulled me up, "Bring Hallie her food!"
With my mouth stuffed with bread, I replied, "I alweady bib!"
She sighs, "Well, since you love helping us out a lot. It's time to work!"
——————————
"I have to what now?!"
Jess explained and groaned, "It's just lawning grass! Greggramp takes his leave on Sundays, but this just cannot be avoided."
"I'd like to take care of Hallie for today, is that alright?" Suzie sadly smiles. Oh right, she hasn't fully resolved her situation with Hallie yet. I purse my lips and nod to her.
"By any chance, do you know how to speak in Italian?"
"Si, Amore Mio!" Suzie replied exuberantly.
"What?"
"I mean, yes, Tom."
"She's been skipping her Italian lessons recently, mind giving her a hand for me?"
She gasps, "Hallie was the one who taught me Italian!" She claps and runs back inside the house.
My smile lingered for a bit, until I noticed Jess from afar with another frightful expression, "Okay, okay! I'm onto it!"
We never had a lawn so it took me a while to get used to this. I tried to take breaks every now and then but Jess seemed to always catch me and call me lazy. It was especially hard because it's about 35°c out and the sun was blaring.
While I was mowing the grass, I thought about what to do with Helena. This can severely affect my job with Hallie. I remember people mentioning that she was screaming but I didn't think it was like what happened yesterday. But, if I do tell Helena, it'd be disrespectful if she doesn't believe me. I could perhaps lose this job. At this point, should the job even matter if I'm working for the wrong purpose?
