   This can't be good. Everything is just so sudden. At lahat ng ito ay nangyari just because I ran away two days ago. JUST. TWO. DAYS. AGO. Now, look! There's so much drama. At naging involved pa ako kay mayabang.

   "What time will Niko arrive tomorrow?" tanong ko sa kanila. I can't believe that my best friend didn't told me anything!

   "He's flight is expected to arrive by 9:45 PM. Since his family is in the States, we have offered that he'll be staying here with us for his entire time in the country," sabi ni uncle.

   That's odd. As far as sa nalalaman ko, his family owns a penthouse in the city and I'm positive that he would be staying there, maybe if not sa apg-convince sa kanya ng relatives ko. Could they have done this two days ago? Contacted him and told him to stay with us? Maybe to keep an eye on me? Kasabwat ba nila si Niko? Oh please no.

   "I believe we'll be fetching him from the airport," sabi ko sa kanila.

   "That is correct. Pupunta tayo doon at around 8 PM. Leave your evening free for tomorrow," sabi sa akin ni auntie.

   "Yes. But, I have one request." Please say yes on this one.

   "What is it?" Here goes.

   "Can I take a day off tomorrow?" Please say yes. Hindi ko gustong gawin ito but... I need to discuss this with Launce in order for our plan to work. 

   "And why?" uncle asked.

   "Because... pagtapos ng dinner... Actually, me and Launce have plans to spend the night together and go to Tagaytay for a date so..." Silently, I'm cringing on the inside. Ugh. Just because of certain circumstances that I'm saying. It's just because of certain circumstances that I'm saying this. Inulit ng inulit ko yung sentence na yun to calm myself. The last thing I want right now is for all of this to go to nothing.

   "Is he more important than your Niko?" Wow. Auntie emphasized "your Niko".

   "Auntie, pasensya na pero we already made plans and I can't just cancel them. Niko is important to me as is Launce." Eww. "Plus, I'm already old enough to make decisions. Sisiguraduhin kong makakabalik kami ni Launce by 6 PM sharp."

   Silence. I was met with silence.

   "We'll talk about that after dinner. After we tell Launce about your engagement with Niko."

   Oh no! I need to talk to Launce PRONTO.

   "Well, shall we prepare for dinner, uncle and auntie?" I asked them. To be honest, attempt ko ito para ma-contact ko si mayabang.

   The both of them eyed me as if na alam nila ang pinapakay ko. Auntie spoke first, "Very well. Meet us back here in 30 minutes." Just enough time, I hope.

   I nodded and left the room, as if I'm taking my time. Once nakalabas na ako, I immediately ran to my bedroom. Of course, dapat akong mag-act na parang wala lang akong pinoproblemahan.

   I locked the door and searched my phone for mayabang's number. "Found it." I'm really glad na hindi ko pa na-erase yung number niya. Here goes. I dialed his number.

   Ring.

   Ring.

   Ring.

LAUNCE

   "Launce, how about this one?" Nathan asked me. Tiningnan ko yung tinuturo niya. Hmm. Pretty. A bit lacking but still a good one.
