"Then why don't I remember him?"
"You were young then, your brain probably chose to forget everything about him and the trauma he caused you."
Merlin is silent for a moment, thinking, searching his brain for the slightest hint of having a sibling. "What was his name?"
Sherlock eyes the confusion and worry written all over Merlin's face.
"Mordred."
"What? That's ridiculous! Mordred wasn't my brother! Besides, he's a lot younger than I, by more than just seven years!" Merlin practically yells.
"Yes, he was, he was just a late bloomer, as they say. Why do you think you had such a strong connection to him? After you left Camelot, Guinevere married him so as to form a bond with magic. Also because Gwen was already pregnant. She had one son by Arthur, and a son and a daughter by Mordred. I am a descendant of her son by Mordred," Sherlock explains quickly.
He lets Merlin process it all. He sees the gears spinning out of control and then all of a sudden stop.
"Thank you, Sherlock," Merlin extends his arm and Sherlock takes it.
"Good luck, wherever you're going," Sherlock says in return.
They both smile before Merlin releases Sherlock's hand and steps into the TARDIS.
Sherlock returns to the silence and comfort of his flat which he has missed so much.

"Everything alright?" Arthur asks Merlin quietly, studying his face.
"Yes," Merlin says quietly back. He adds, "I'll tell you later."
The Doctor is dancing and running around the console unit pushing buttons, pulling levers, and typing in information. He pulls a lever down and the center starts moving up and down and makes a wheezing sound and suddenly they're flying through space.
"So, Doctor, where are we taking them?" Amy asks curiously.
"America, 2014, to some friends of mine," he says. "Dean and Sam Winchester. Might be a little bumpy of a relationship at first, but I'm sure they'd like the help and company." The Doctor smiles reassuring towards Arthur and Merlin who both nod and put on a worried smile.
"Great," Arthur says. "And what do they do, exactly?"
"Hunt monsters," the Doctor replies casually.
The TARDIS lands and the Doctor checks his screen to be sure that he got the place and time correct. As he's looking at it, the screen glitches. Now it says the 23rd of April 2017 instead of 18th of August 2014. The Doctor feels the color drain from his face and he feels goosebumps rise on his arms.
"Darkness," a bone chilling voice whispers. "Darkness is falling."
The Doctor looks around at his friends, looking for a sign that they heard the voice too, but apparently not.
He glances back up at the screen again and it's back to normal.
"Doctor?" Amy says cautiously.
The Doctor shakes his head as if to clear it, and turns the monitor off. "Yes, right. Off to meet the Winchesters!"
His smile is back and he dashes to the door and exits the TARDIS leaving behind his confused companions. Amy and Rory come out first, followed by Merlin and Arthur.
They landed on grass outside what looks like a war bunker entrance, the lowering sun blocked by the woods surrounding the back of the bunker. There are stairs leading down to a door. A long, gravel driveway expands from somewhere up ahead to behind where they can hear cars on a highway.
