"Sky!"
Napaigtad ako sa gulat dahil sa idinikit na bagay ni Sky sa pisngi ko. It's a bottled water. At sobrang lamig nito.
"You're spacing out again." He said as he started laughing. Sinimangutan ko siya saka kinuha ang tubig. He sat beside me, pagka-upo ay kinurot niya ako sa pisngi.
Who wouldn't space out? Kung may nangbanta lang naman sa'yo ke aga-aga. Buti sana kung sina Wendy lang yon, but it's not. Mas nakakatakot pa siya sa kanila.
"Stop." I slap his hand slightly.
"Okay. But you need to come with me." Hindi na niya ako hinintay na makapagsalita at bigla na lang niya akong hinila patayo.
"Where?" He rub his nape as he shyly look at me.
"Well." Panimula niya. He then stops and fix my things. Siya na rin ang humawak sa mga libro ko.
"My club needs you." My brows knotted as I heard what he said.
"Bakit?" He's the President of Music Club. And they're airing songs every lunch time. It's like a radio playing some songs requested by the students.
He requested me to sing before. And it kinda feel weird, kasi they're hearing my voice live. As far as I remember, I did it last year. And the day after, their talking about the girl who sang live. They talking about me. And they even don't know about it
"My members requested you to me. And I can't say no to them. So, let's go?" He held my hand so I let him pull me.
"Why me? I'm not a good singer." I mumbled as I tilt my head sideways. He then chuckled as what I've said.
"Believe me. You're good at it." His dimples are now visible as he smile to me. He even pinch my cheeks slightly.
Sky is my childhood friend. We've known each other for 12 years now. Pero sa mga nagdaang dalawang taon, minsan na lang kami nagtatagpo ng landas. Aside from being a President of Music Club, he's also the Captain of Basketball Team.
"I should have a talent fee after this." Tinawanan lang niya ang sinabi ko, saka ako hinila ng marahan para magpantay ang lakad namin. Pero nahuhuli pa rin ako dahil sa haba ng hakbang niya.
With that, I pout. But he pulled my lips ng makita niyang nakanguso ako.
"You're not cute with that expression, so stop." Tiningala ko siya para bulyawan sana ng makita kong ang pula ng tenga at mukha niya.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah." He open the door when we reach the Music Room. Pina-una niya ako at siya na rin ang nagsara ng pinto. Nang makita kong inilapag niya ang mga libro ko sa lamesa niya, lumapit ako sa kaniya at ibinigay ang bag ko.
"Where are they?" He point me the other door from my left side.
"Allyson, you're here." Sinalubong ako ng yakap ni Kc nang buksan ko ang pinto. She's with Yel, the operator, and the twins, Kyle and Ryle, also a member of club.
"Buti naman napilit ka ni President. We've been requesting you for two months now." She showed me her two fingers forming a peace, and I chuckled at that gesture.
"Hindi niya ako pinilit, he dragged me here." I smiled wickedly and Sky just rolled his eyes before he put his headphone.
"She's demanding for talent fee." He sarcastically said. Everyone gasp on what they heard.
"Please, Allyson. Namumulubi na kami, those things are so expensive. At nagrereklamo na din ang Dean sa dami ng mga pinapabili namin. He even gave us a notice, na kung hindi magiging patok sa mga estudyante ang program namin, Music Room will be closed." I laughed ng mapansing parang nawalan ng kulay ang apat. I'm just joking about the talent fee thingy, and I'm sure Sky is joking too.
"I even performed before, eh di sana siningil ko na kayo nung una pa lang." With that, they sigh in relief.
"But what do you mean by that, bakit naman nila isasara ang Music Room?"
"Have you noticed the box outside?" I nod about what she said.
"It's a drop box. Lahat ng feedbacks ng mga estudyante about our program, hinuhulog nila doon. And those feedbacks are all negative. Na kesyo nakakabulabog daw kami ng mga estudyante during their rest hour. See how small minded they are? We are part of the Music Club, anong gusto nilang gawin namin, magbasa?" I gave her a sad look. Pero winagayway niya ang kamay nito.
"Oh dear, don't pity us. Because, you'll going to save us." She clapped her hands after what she said. Napakunot-noo naman ako saka tiningnan siya ng nagtataka.
"You see. We monitored those feedbacks after you perform, and they all write the same thing. 'We want to hear your voice everyday'. So, we decided to let you join our club. Starting today, you're now a part of our club."
"And don't say NO." Agarang pahayag niya ng makita niya ang mukha ko na parang hindi makapaniwala.
"Okay, tama na yan." Sky pulled me saka ako pinaharap sa kaniya. He put on me the headphone. Pagkatapos ay tinulak ako papunta sa Record Room. Aangal pa sana ako pero isinarado na nila agad ang pinto. I scanned the area, they have all the equipments needed. At masasabi kong mahal nga ang bayad ng mga ito.
"There's a lyrics on the stand, Ally. Just pick a song you know, and gave me the sign using your fingers." Yel said as I heard his voice on the headphone. I scanned the folder one by one. Nang makakita na ako ng kanta, I raise my hand and form my finger into four sign, signalling the song I chose.
"Okay. We're start in 15 seconds. Twins, get ready." I eyed the twins as they gave their opening speech. Para nga silang radio host sa sobrang professional nilang magsalita. Sa pagkakataong ito ay hindi ko makita ang kapilyuhan na lagi nilang ginagawa.
"So here's a song, from our very own Ace. Enjoy the day everyone."
I remembered, tinanong nila ako kung anong gusto kong itawag nila sa akin, and I suggested Ace. It's an acronym of my name, and I find it cute, so.
The background music starts playing, and a familiar tune lingered in my ears as I starts singing my chosen song.
"Thank you so much, Allyson. You save us." Sinalubong ako ni Kc ng yakap pagkalabas ko sa recording room. Ang alam kong isang kanta lang ay umabot na nang tatlo, and it's past lunch time now. Mabuti na lang at wala ng pasok ngayong tanghali.
"Alam mo ba, ang daming estudyante ang nasa labas kanina. They are so eager to know who's our singer. But Sky being Sky, mahigpit na pinagbawal niya sa amin na we shouldn't give any information about you. Oh diba parang celebrity lang ang peg?" She chuckled after she said those words.
Tinignan ko si Sky. He rolled his eyes at me, and I also raise my brows at his direction. Sometimes his kind, but most of the time, he's being rude and always pissing me off.
"Tara lunch tayo. It's our treat." Kc pulled me at wala na akong nagawa kundi magpatangay nila. We're leading the way and the boys are at our back.
I stopped midway when I saw Zachary who's walking in front at me, actually they are five.
"What's wrong?" Tanong ni Sky as he put his arm on my shoulder. I didn't answer him, tumingin ako sa harap and I almost jump on my place ng makita ko ang mukha niya.
He has a blank expression, but his eyes are glaring at my direction. He then turn his gaze to my shoulder, at hindi nakaligtas sa paningin ko ang pag-igting ng kaniyang mga panga.
He walked beside Sky, at nung magkatapat sila ay binunggo niya ito sa braso. He eyed me one more time, and I can't help but to notice the emotions on his eyes. Those are anger and disgust.
Okay? What did I do this time?
