Operation Cast Lead 2008-2009
Israel launched a three-week assault on Gaza. During this operation a total of 353 Palestinian children were killed and a further 860 were injured. White phosphorus gas was one of the main weapons used, illegal in every single country country today. Hamas - a Palestinian resistance group has also been firing rockets into illegal Israeli territory, targeting only soldiers.
Another invasion took place in 2012.
