Suez Canal War, 1956
This pinpointed the time when Egypt would come to the Palestinians aid. In doing so, Britain and France attacked Egypt, allowing the Israeli army to occupy the Sinai desert and take control of the strategic Suez Canal. As Russia was allied with Egypt especially Nasser (Egyptian President), they threatened Israel to withdraw from the Sinai desert and Suez Canal and they did.
