The Holocaust, 1933-1945

In 1933, the Nazi’s came to power in Germany, committing a genocidal massacre of almost 6 million Jews. The Nazi’s believed themselves to be superior and Jewish people, a threat to their economy and way of life. As part of the ‘Final Solution’ they wiped out not only Jews but gypsies, homosexuals, disabled peoples, Slavic peoples and people with opposing ideological backgrounds such as Communists, Socialists and Jehovah’s witness’.
