Heart hurts, was the idiotic message my brain came up with when you wrapped your arms around me.

You'd surprised me by showing up again, though it wasn't really a surprise because the night was rare if I didn't see you.

We'd already bid our goodbyes in front of Willis' and I turned to walk away but you caught my wrist and pulled me back into your chest instead. I panicked for a moment before releasing the breath that had caught in my throat.

You whispered into my hair, saying I looked like I needed a hug. I closed my eyes.

Yes, that week in particular had included a rough couple of days.

More bills that we would struggle to pay on time were on the kitchen counter the night before, mom hadn't had time to make it to the grocery store, and stress wouldn't allow me to sleep.
