Chapter Thirty

She was actually confused about everything. Everything around her seems to be in chaos.

Katatapos lang ng gulo sa buhay nina Warner at Ivy, ngayon naman ay may gulo sa mismong organisasyong kinabibilangan niya. At mas naging magulo pa nang masangkot ang mga kaibigan niya sa mga kalaban.

Pero ang pinaka mas nagpagulantang sa lahat ay ang kaalamang si Krae pala ang kuya ni Kassie at pareho nilang gustong mahanap ang taong pumatay rito.

Sa lahat ng gulong hinaharap niya ngayon ay ang suhestiyon ni Warner ang hindi niya kayang gawin. Hindi niya kayang talikuran ang lahat lalo na ngayon na kailangan ang tulong niya at malapit na niyang makamit ang matagal na niyang gusto.

"But you're hurting right now. Hindi pa ba sapat na dahilan ang lahat ng nangyayaring ito para tumigil ka na? Para huminto ka na sa trabaho mo? You're just risking your life, Avi."

"I risk my life everyday because that was my job!" Hindi niya napigilan ang pagtaas ng kanyang boses.

"Hindi ba security agent ka lang? Why you make your job so complicated?" Takang tanong nito.

"Let's just stop this conversation, Warner. I'm not in the mood to argue with you." At akmang tatalikod na rito.

"Who says I'm arguing? I just want to know why you can't leave your job? You already had enough of your missions and operations and now you're hurting because of this. So just quit and be with me." Anito na hinawakan siya sa magkabilang braso.

"You don't understand-"

"Then make me understand it!" Putol nito sa kanya. "Tell me the reason behind all these."

She don't know what to do and he was giving her no choice. She need to tell him everything.

She withdrew from his grip and then gazed at him with a serious look on her face.

"S.I.A.T.T. is not an ordinary agency." Panimula niya. "It is a secret organization that only few head of each states knows about it. We were the ones who they ordered to do the mission that ordinary military forces can't deliver. Only the best of the best agents were hired and swore to this secrecy. Pinalalabas lang namin na isang security agency ito para walang makahalata na kahit sino. We vowed not to tell anyone about this even to our family. Anyone who would dare to defy this vow will be punished."

"I knew it! I was right all along!" Bulalas nito.

"Yes and I'm sorry if I had to deny about that before. I can't tell you the truth."

"And now you are telling me... Does that mean something? Aren't you afraid that they might punish you? Well it's not that I'm gonna tell them about this- you telling me your secret, I won't let them know about this." And he even crossed his chest to where his heart is, as a sign of a promise.

Natawa naman siya sa inakto nito.

"I have a lot of things on my plate now than to worry about that damn punishment." At naglakad siya papunta sa harap ng isang bintana at tumitig saglit sa labas bago niya ibinalik ang mga mata rito. "Now you know why I can't quit! This is my job and right now, there's been a breached in our unit and two of my team mates were involved. And we are now close to finding out who killed Kassie. That person might also be the one who ordered to breach our system the last time. He wants something and we ought to know what."

Kita niya ang pagbuntong hininga nito. At nang tumingin na ito sa kanya ay kita niya ang lungkot roon at ang pagkawala ng determinasyong mapilit siya sa gusto nitong gawin.
