Chapter 38

As soon as I turned around, I saw him. I saw his eyes looking straight into mine and his lips formed a fading smile when I looked at him.

 "What now?" I said. I wasn't ready to have a conversation with him yet.

"I heard you talk to James earlier." He said dead serious. Fuck. I forgot to close the door. He heard everything. Here's the chance I needed. 

"Fine. Here it is, then. Okay, I admit that I care about you. There's not even one moment in the day that I don't think about you. And that kiss at the pyramids meant so much to me but to you it was a huge nothing. I love your smile and the sparkle that your eyes have when you narrate a story. I love the way you walk and the look you have on your face when you focus on something. I love the fact that you are so nice with everyone. Apart from me but whatever. When we married, I couldn't believe it. And when we kissed, I thought I had a chance with you. How could I think that I had a chance to be with you? How could I think that I was even close to good enough for you? I am so naive. Obviously, you regretted the kiss but I didn't. I am in love with you, Liam. I am falling for you even more per day. But, because I'm pretty sure you don't feel the same, I'm asking you to pretend that I never talked to you. I don't want you to feel sorry for me. Just act like you don't even know me. I'll do the same. It'll be easier for the both of us. After all, I am a waste of space and time to you, remember? So, I think I am doing you a favor. Thank you for your time." 

When I was done talking, I felt like passing out. I said it. I said how I was really feeling. I loved him with all my heart. But I knew I could never have him. 

"Kathie, I-.."

"No, Liam." I said raising my hand in front of his face to silence him. I passed by him and left. I went in the living room and sat there, far from the others. Liam didn't come in the living room but he was still in the house. I could feel his presence in the house. I got up and left the house just like that. I couldn't be in the same place as him right now. 

I needed a lot of fresh air. I started walking without even knowing where I was going. I wouldn't care if I got lost. I kept on walking with my head down. It was dark. I looked around and saw trees everywhere. I started to panick when I realised that I was in the dense forest of Luxor. There were rumors that said that whoever went in that forest, they would never find the way out and they would be found dead.

I never stopped walking, though. I had to find the way out. I needed to get home, to find Alisa. Suddenly, I heard a loud scream. I started to walk in the direction where I heard the voice come from, hoping to find someone to help me. 

As I was getting closer and closer with each step I took, I caught sight of a shadow. When I got close enough, I realised whose shadow that was. It was Jane. 

"Jane?!" 

"Don't be so surprised, Kathie." She said. That stupid grin never leaving her face.

"But how..?" 

"I've been watching your every move. I trapped you once again." She smiled sarcastically.

"Trapped us?" What kind of trap? I didn't understand.

"Really, darling, you believed that you would find Alisa that easily?" She laughed. She was pissing me off. 

"You mean she's not here?" But we came all the way from London to find Alisa and she wasn't here? 

"Why should I tell you? After all, you won't need it." Her eyes got darker.

"Why?" She was confusing. I could sense that something was going to happen.

"Because you'll die, Kathie." The lump in my throat forming once again. I will die. That's it. I knew she would kill me. And there wasn't anyone there to stop her.

"W-what are you talking about?" I mumbled.

"Goodbye, Kathie." She started saying some weird words.

I was losing my senses slowly and painfully. I couldn't breath anymore. I fell to the cold ground of that creepy forest. Everything was over when I closed my eyes, completely unconcious.

I opened my eyes trying to take in my surroundings. I couldn't recognise the place. I realised I was lied down. When I tried to get up, I felt two arms wrapped around me. I had never felt my body heavier before. 

I lifted my head slightly and saw Liam. His eyes were closed. How did I end up like that? In Liam's arms? I was dreaming. Or I had died and now I was in heaven. In heaven with the one I had ever wanted. 

I was in his room. He was holding me so tight. I felt safe but I had to get up and get the hell out of his room and his life...

A/N: Helloooo!! Sorry this chapter is short but I have to get ready because today I am going out with my best friend whom I haven't seen in ages because he lives in Germany.
