sunset by the sea

I never knew love so closely and intimately,
Until I gazed upon thee,
precious jewel I thee chanced upon.

And you aroused my heart,
to pound like waves crashing against the sea.
and blood to sing through my veins,
as the strong ocean breeeze rushing through the trees.

Ah! The soft cold waters of you,
embracing the coldness which is my only warmth,
the only warmth which thou hadst to offer,
when thy heat had by someone else coveted.

I love her so, and still,
I had coldness as my only warmth.
to have loved her so until, her fair hand i thought unworthy to touch.
But still, coldness became the only warmth
that unrequited love had to offer.

And yet, as I watch the fading rays of the setting sun,
Whilst the sound of the passionate pounding of the waves of the sea,
Beat soft and sad in mine ears......
Oh! If only I could stop loving,
She who never loved me,
And forget the the thunderous pounding
of her amorous heart!
All is left for me now,
Is no one.

Save the sad howl of the wind,
The bronze sunset of her skin,
And the raging sea.......
