"Our secret," I heard Jax say.
He emerged from the forest, hands fumbling with his belt. Another man followed closely behind him, doing the same. Both of their expressions screamed lust, their bodies were covered with sweat.
I clutched my chest, attempting to calm my racing heart. The guy froze as he saw me.
"Dude—" he began, flicking his gaze between Jax and I.
Jax—whose cheeks were as red as a tomato— turned and planted a kiss onto the guys' lips. "Clay, I know her, don't worry."
Clay was still a clustered mess, blonde hair stuck to his pale forehead. "I swear if my dad finds out—"
Jax placed a big hand on his small chin, turning his head toward him. I watched as their lips attached, and their hands began to grope one another.
I nodded awkwardly, standing up. I walked to another side of the house, thankful that there were some more chairs.
As I sat in one, I quickly took notice of how much smaller this side was. But, since I was alone, I didn't try to complain too much.
Just as I began to relax, another voice interrupted my quiet thoughts, "How about I show you how much I missed you?"
I watched as a girl pulled a guy by his hand from the front of the house. It was hard to identify them, due to the dark of the night. Just as they stepped to my side of the house, she reached down to grope him through his pants.
I sat still in my spot as I heard Kade respond. "How about you leave me the fuck alone?"
The girl's hand didn't move, and I watched as Kade grabbed her hand roughly, shoving it off of him. "I said chill, Bailey. I'm not in the mood."
By Bailey's taunt features, including the downward motion of her lips, she obviously didn't like his answer. "Come on, Kade. It's just you and me here, no one else. You've fucked me out here plenty of times, what's your deal now?"
My stomach fell and twisted all in one sick disaster. The longer I heard them, the more I felt my chest cave in. I didn't want to be around for this next part. Kade was going to sleep with her, but I wasn't sticking around for it.
"Those times were then," Kade spat, stepping away from Bailey with a look of antennae. "Goddamn, can you not take a hint or hear basic ass sense? Go and find someone else to blow because I'm not in the mood. Leave me the fuck alone."
I was entirely too dazed; I cursed myself as my fingers slipped. My heel fell out of my grasp, causing their heads to turn my way.
I stared back at them, like a deer caught in headlights.
I didn't waste a second. "I-I'm sorry," I muttered, jumping out of my seat.
My hands clenched the heels as I made the mistake of looking up. I caught eyes with Kade, whose expression was unreadable.
But, as I stared back into his warm eyes, I felt the rush. I felt the electricity of a thousand stadiums. I felt something and everything, all at once.
I felt the good memories. The memory of our personal talks, the memory of us sneaking into the hotel, the memory of us cooking at his house, even the bad things. The memory of everything.
