That Night
Skylar's POV
Everyone was outside getting a fire going, enjoying their last night as I was in my tent with the girls, getting them ready for bed.
"Mom, do we have to go to bed?" Faith frowned.
"Yeah, we're not even tired." Luna agreed.
"You have to be well rested up for tomorrow." I sighed. "But before you do go to sleep I wanna give you something."
I pulled out two identical lockets that had and engraving on the front that said 'Love one's may leave you.... But memories remain in our heart's.'
"I want you girls to always remember this engraving. Your father and I lobe you girls so much, more than our lives. That's why we're meeting the Volturi tomorrow. I need you two to stay with Jared and Nik tomorrow no matter what, like Nessy is staying with Jake. Even if I need to tell them that...." I trailed off as tears gathered in my eyes, but tried to stay strong for the girls. "T-that they need to take you somewhere."
This caused the girls to start crying.
"Oh, my babies, come here." I said pulling them into a comforting hug. "You're gonna be safe. Always and Forever. I promise."
