Remnants of Home

Roughly a month later, Y/N was doing a normal patrol in space when he came across a floating pod nearby Earth's moon

It looked like the ones Y/N had noticed back home when he was younger. He watched as it drifted towards him and gently held it in his arms. He headed back to the Watchtower and brought the pod to the control deck where the others were stood, speaking with each other. Hawkgirl looked at the pod with curiosity

"What is that Y/N?" she asked. Y/N shrugged his shoulders as he placed it down. He noticed there was a keypad on the side. After typing in a combination out of a memory of one his parents taught him, the pod opened and there were things Y/N remembered from when he was young. The joined skulls of a two headed monster which was his first kill when he was young, the clothes he wore as a baby, even the first weapon he made when he was 7 years old. But there was one thing that caught his eye. A picture of Y/N as a child, with his mother and father and pet, which looked like a wolf but it wasn't a wolf. The pet had the body of a wolf, but it had deep green eyes and striped fur with purple spots on the nose. His father had his arm around his mother's shoulder and Y/N was between the two of them, all three of them smiling as Y/N held the young wolf-like pup, which was licking his face. He noticed a note on the side of the frame. It said "Y/N, the shining star of Corona Zephyrus. A great warrior, who will always have family wherever he goes". Tears welled up in Y/N's eyes and he turned away. Hawkgirl looked at the picture with sadness and mourning. She touched Y/N's arm gently and Y/N looked at her, tears flowing freely from his eyes

"What are these items, Y/N?" Aquaman asked and Y/N sighed before he began to explain to them about the meaning of the items and what they were

Flashback 19 years ago

A 7 year old Y/N was in his father's workshop building a weapon. He had been given permission by his parents to use the workshop, as it was customary for Zephyrons to make their first weapon before the age of 10. Y/N worked tirelessly to complete his weapon. It took him hours but it was finally completed. It was two blades combined into one particularly lethal weapon.

Y/N had cut himself a few times so he had bandages on his hands after the construction was finished. He had also made a sheath for the weapon so no one got badly hurt if they were testing it out

Flashback 17 years ago

A 9 year old Y/N was with his friends sailing a boat on the oceans of Corona Zephyrus when a two headed monster suddenly swooped down and snatched one of his friends from the deck of the ship. Y/N suddenly ran into the ship and returned a few minutes later with a heavy sniper rifle, but by that time he was the only one left and the ship was sinking. The monster soon arrived and Y/N managed to cut the beast with the weapon he made when he was 7 and throw a fuel tank into the wound on its chest. The monster swooped down low and Y/N barely avoided the claws. He aimed at the fuel tank

"Chew on this you herakon piece of kela" Y/N said before he blasted the fuel tank, blowing the beast apart. The skulls of the beast landed right next to him, the skeleton landing in the water. Y/N noticed a rescue ship and waved it down. The ship managed to rescue Y/N and the skeleton of his first kill just as Y/N's ship went below the waves. Upon arrival back at his home village, Y/N was cheered as a hero for his first kill, which happened to be one of the legendary "Howler of the Fertawn". These beings were rumoured to strike quickly and efficiently on sailors. They were extremely difficult to kill. Only 5 hunters had lived to tell the tale about the being, and only 2 had killed it. Y/N was hailed as a hero for the rest of his life in the village.

Back to the present

Y/N was at the table with the others, tears flowing from his eyes. Hawkgirl hugged him tightly and Y/N hugged her back

"The others are memories of my youth. The first clothes i wore as a baby, the pet I had as a kid. Her name was Elisia, she was the most beautiful Heranok Vergar you could ever meet" Y/N explained and all the Justice League lowered their heads in understanding and sadness. A part of Y/N was curious as to how the pod reached Earth's moon. Corona Zephyrus, or what remained of it, was 21,000 light years away from the edge of Earth's galaxy. Y/N realised something. Perhaps his parents were alive. If it was true, he hoped Elisia was also alive. Something in the back of his mind told him they were alive. But he wanted to KNOW it was true, not think about it possibly being true. He took the pod and items in it to the room he shared with Hawkgirl and looked out the window of their room. He placed a hand on the viewport

"Mom, Dad. If you are alive, I want to see you again. I miss you so much. I know we will meet again one day, but I hope it is soon." Y/N said as the artificial night closed in on the Watchtower. Y/N laid down on the double bed he shared with Shayera, and closed his eyes slowly. Shayera walked in and saw Y/N asleep. She smiled and laid next to him, wrapping her arms around him and falling asleep too, her head on his chest. If Y/N's parents were in fact alive, she wanted to meet them.
