Cousin [makoto x reader]

Makoto's POV

"Good job Hayato! Your swimming has improved a lot!" I couldn't help but praise Kisumi's little brother. Hayato was starting to swim other strokes without the kickboard and I was pretty happy that I could help him to conquer his fear of water. 

After the lesson ended, I was heading out of Iwatobi SC Returns! when I noticed that Hayato was still waiting in the foyer of the swim club. 

"Huh? Kisumi is usually on time to pick up Hayato..."

I  walked over to ask Hayato about his brother and we talked for a while when suddenly a girl with [colour]-hair rushed in and came to a halt in front of Hayato. 

Your POV

"damn that Kisumi telling me to pick up his brother at the last minute..." You couldn't help but curse your pink-haired cousin. Sprinting towards Iwatobi SC Returns!, you were thankful for your basketball training. (Just assuming you're a basketballer like Kisumi) At least I have enough stamina to run! 

Bursting through the main door of the swim club, you stopped in front of Hayato, panting a little as you caught your breath. Sitting next to Hayato was a cute brunette with green eyes. 

"I'm so sorry Hayato, Kisumi only told me last minute..." You blurted out to your cousin, a sheepish smile on your face. Then, you quickly turned to the brunette and thanked him profusely. 

Makoto's POV

"Kisumi told her to come?...but she doesn't look related to him. Is she Kisumi's girlfriend? But she's cute...I kinda like her"  Makoto couldn't help but think, a little disappointed. "Would she want to date me... Wait what am I thinking?!"

"Thanks for accompanying Hayato...um.. your name?" the [colour]-eyed girl said, blushing a little.

"It's okay! I'm Makoto by the way and I'm Hayato's swimming coach!" I said with a small smile.

"Oh! Nice to meet you Makoto! I'm [name]," the girl said. "Do you wanna get ice-cream with Hayato?"

I quickly accepted, but at the same time felt a little baffled. "If she was dating Kisumi, why would she ask me to join her for ice-cream...wouldn't she ask Kisumi?"

Your POV

"I didn't think he would accept my offer... but he's really cute"  You couldn't help but let a small blush flush your cheeks as the thought popped up in your mind. As you, Hayato and Makoto made your way to the ice-cream parlour, you chatted happily with Makoto.

At the ice-cream parlour, Hayato chose his favourite flavour while you opted to not order any ice-cream, giving the reason that you need to keep fit and ice-cream is unhealthy. Although the main reason was that you were kinda short on money.

Makoto looked at you confused and being the kind-hearted person he is, he asked you, "Wanna share the ice-cream with me? Then you wouldn't eat the full amount of calories." You giggled a little at his cute statement and quickly replied, "Sure~"

Makoto's POV

[name] wanted to split the cost of the ice-cream (just a couple of dollars) but obviously,  I refused. As we ate the ice-cream, [name] told me about her basketball training while I shared about the swim club at Iwatobi High School. 

As I learnt more about [name], a realised I really liked her. "If only she wasn't dating Kisumi!" I thought, feeling a little jealous.

Your POV

While conversing and eating ice-cream with Makoto, you lost track of time. Honestly, you would have stayed on to talk to Makoto for as long as possible if Hayato hadn't tugged on your hand, wanting to go home.

"Ah, well I guess I've gotta drop Hayato off at Kisumi's place. I wouldn't want my cousin mad at me," you say, grasping Hayato's hand in yours. "Thanks for the ice-cream, it was nice meeting you. Um, wanna...hang out sometime?" Blushing, you look away. 

Makoto's POV

"So there're cousins...she looks so cute now I could hug her!"

"Sure!" I quickly replied, a hint of a blush dyeing my cheeks. 

As the both of you headed your separate ways, the same thoughts echoed in your heads.

"I really like you!"
