TW: there is a situation where somebody in this chapter self-harms themselves. If you are triggered by this part, or would simply not like to read it, stop reading at ". . . all that mattered at that point." and begin reading again at "Once I get back to the dorm. . ." Enjoy!

Everything was not okay. The four of us have been here for a grand total of four hours when the whole set-up came crashing down.

We all got called down to our collective "common rooms" to discuss rules and policies that they have here. It was going fine until our hall monitor, who's name is Jack mentioned drugs and alcohol.

"If you haven't already guessed from all of the other rules we have, drugs and alcohol are not permitted anywhere on campus." That earned a collective groan throughout the audience of teenagers, and I looked to my right to see Michael standing with his arms crossed, silently fuming. "If you are caught with any drugs, they will be confiscated, and you will be put on high alert monitoring until we deem you trustable."

Michael was angrily muttering under his breath, and I new it was only a matter of time before he started getting louder and more aggressive. I subconsciously stepped directly between Michael and Luke, trying my best to block Luke from getting touched if Michael were to get out of hand.

"If you are one of the people here who has a drug or alcohol addiction, please meet us out here at 8:00 am sharp tomorrow to help create an addiction support group for the people who need it; by the way, if you're at this facility, then you definitely need the support."

I could tell that Michael was getting angrier every second by the way his fists were balling up. I turned to Luke and whispered to him, "We should stand closer to the door so we can escape quicker when Michael goes on a rampage." Luke looked at me with slightly scared eyes, but nodded, and we silently started moving toward the exit. The four of us were on the outer edge of the audience that has formed, so it shouldn't be too hard for us to escape.

"If you are caught with drugs or alcohol after the initial confiscations occur, then you will be taken into the Solitude Room, and your drugs and alcohol will be disposed of properly." Jack looked directly at Michael while saying, "The solitude room is for delinquents, and I have no doubt that some of you will end up there at least once by the end of your stay here."

"Oh fuck you!" Michael exclaimed. He wasn't yelling quite yet, but if I look over at Luke I can see the unconcealed fear. I quickly told Luke to go back to our room before things got worse, and he willingly obliged. "I can already tell that you're eager to lock me up in the "Solitude Room", and frankly I don't like how you're judging me based on my anger issues! It's rude, and I'll have you know that I can stay the whole six months without getting put in that mother-fucking room!"

"Woah, dude, you gotta stay for six months?" The kid next to Michael laughed. "I only have to stay for two weeks. Anyone who's staying for more than one month is considered a freak in my book, and they're also extremely wea-"

Michael punched the kid square in the jaw before he could say anything else. I stayed still on the outskirts, watching Calum try to hold Michael back, and watching the kid try to keep his broken nose from spraying blood everywhere; and humorously failing.

It was amusing to watch Jack run over to the wall telephone and frantically talk to whoever was on the other side. Not even one minute later three sets of footsteps could be heard dashing up the stairs. Taylor and two other men walked into the common room with frantic looks on their faces, and Taylor immediately started on restraining Michael. One of the men, who is assumably the doctor, walked over to the kid with the broken nose and escorted him out of the common room, most likely heading towards the infirmary.
