Telekinesis. The supposed ability to move objects at a distance by mental power or other non-physical means.
Living in a world where such powers scared and frightened mankind, two little insecure boys had to keep their special and supernatural ability to themselves.
'We can't show this to anyone! Not even by accident, it'll cause trouble.'
A young boy named Namjoon stared intensely into Taehyung's eyes, waiting for any signs of understanding or agreement.
His hands were resting on Tae's shoulders, making sure the younger one would understand the importance of his decision and not brush it off so easily.
'I know, hyung. I'm really trying, but it's difficult! What if I accidentally make a pen float, or a car?'
Namjoon lowered his gaze to the ground as his brows furrowed, deep in thought.
'A pen I can understand, but a car? You can move a car already?'
'No!' Taehyung stepped backwards as quick as a flash, making Namjoon's hands fall to his side.
'I would never! But you never know, I could... accidentally...'
The sound of silence filled the boys' ears as they stood opposite each other, their eyes either looking at the dark brown earth or the bright blue sky.
The two boys stood thinking hard, the same emotion flooding their hearts bitterly. They were alone and felt lonely. They had family and friends, but none of them would truly understand them. It's the exact reason why they were mostly seen together, the power they shared had gifted them with an instant friendship and bonding.
At first it was exciting and cool, being two young boys with a secret talent. Like a superhero they'd be, saving damsels in distress and dudes in danger. But the first time Tae tried to make friends with a boy by lifting a playing cube off the ground, his playmate screamed in terror and ran away from him. At the young boy who became a smaller and smaller figure as he ran off into the distance, Tae looked shocked and surprised. When Tae told Namjoon that evening, he'd understood the problem immediately and told Tae he'd make up some sort of solution.
So here they stood, the scenery peaceful and pleasant. Surrounded by tall trees and embraced by a warm wind, Namjoon made up a new idea.
'OK, I know what you mean. We really don't actually know how to use our power. Correctly, I mean. So how about we come to this forest and practise whenever we're alone, until we can control it?'
Taehyung's eyes lit up brightly. 'Wow, really hyung! That's smart, how about we start with sticks, or we take books along with us?'
Namjoon smiled at the excitement and happiness in the younger boy's voice and simply answered with a yes.
This is a cherished memory of years ago. Now they're almost in their mid-twenties, enjoying life as any other ordinary male would do.
'So this is where you used to hang out? It's very peaceful', a friend of theirs comments as he's driving on an empty road. Namjoon is sitting next to him and Tae is placed in the backseat.
'Ah, Hoseok, this is where Namjoon and I meditated in peace', Tae replies whilst looking outside at the forest.
'Meditation? Really?' Hoseok chuckles whilst eyeing Namjoon, who curtly shakes his head.
'More like running and playing games. That's his kind of meditation.'
'And practising our telekinesis!', Tae declares in the back, eyeing every tree and its branches that the car passes. Between the road and the forest lies a river not looking filthy nor polluted, but pure and calming. 'Whenever we were alone.'
