Chapter Eleven

Alex left Jack's house earlier than they'd planned, and he was texting Zack anxiously as he walked home. He didn't understand what he'd done wrong, he thought he and Jack were just joking around, but clearly not.

earthtoalex: Zack I literally don't know what I did wrong

zmerrick: Maybe hes just having a bad day?

earthtoalex: But Jack never has bad days

earthtoalex: And he won't talk to me

earthtoalex: I just fucking realised he's never told me about his mental health, Zack, he's never spoken to me when he's struggling and he's never opened up to me

earthtoalex: What if he doesn't trust me enough

zmerrick: He doesnt open up to anyone

zmerrick: Hes known rian half his life and rians never known why hes upset

earthtoalex: He told me why he was upset

zmerrick: Really?????

zmerrick: Well clearly he trusts you then

earthtoalex: Is that seriously the most he's opened up to anyone??

zmerrick: According to rian

earthtoalex: Jesus

earthtoalex: I feel so fucking bad

zmerrick: Maybe you should tezt him?

earthtoalex: I wanna give him space

earthtoalex: He seemed really mad

zmerrick: Is that the kind of "fuck off, asshole" mad or didn't talk to you mad

earthtoalex: He just got really blunt then wouldn't talk to me then I tried to ask what happened and he told me to get the fuck out

zmerrick: Oh shit

zmerrick: I really dont know, man

earthtoalex: I'm so scared

zmerrick: Hes probably just overtired or horny or something

earthtoalex: I hope you're right

zmerrick: Even if he is pissed, you two always figure shit out

zmerrick: He fuckin loves you man

earthtoalex: Yeah

Once Alex got home, he decided to write a song, or at least the start to one. He usually wrote songs with Jack, and the younger boy's absence saddened him a little, but he tried not to focus on that.

He got the song half finished and called it 'The Worst Kind of Lullaby', just for now. He'd written it about his older brother, as a way to get all the bottled up feelings out.

He knew he'd probably cry while he sang it to the guys, but he didn't think any of them would mind.

And that had to be when he started thinking of Jack again, then he got sad and cried into his pillow for a while.

He so desperately wanted to text Jack and apologise to him, but he knew it'd be better to give him time to think by himself.

In that entire day, Alex wrote a whole song, managed to finish Halo Reach, did his homework by choice, then jerked off three times. By the time he'd ran out of things to do, he'd gotten a message from Jack.
