Mud Hero or Mud Zero?

Mud Hero or Mud Zero

So, I write this Wattblog because it could be my last, not because I am fleeing the country and headed to a remote island with no wifi, not because I am going to lock myself away until Emma Fletcher is done, not even because I am so darned busy these days.

It could be my last because I may keel over on Saturday afternoon. Why?

I’m glad you asked. Sometime (it seems like many moons ago) a crazy person took over my body. It’s the only logical explanation for this world I suddenly find myself in. Someone possessed my body and signed me up for Mud Hero.

I think I’ll be a Mud Zero.

In case you are wondering what Mud Hero is, check out the video on the side --->

It’s a 6.5 km obstacle course…. Or for someone like me, 6.5 km of pure and uncompromising hell. I’ll say it. I’m not a fitness girl. I’m not a crossfit junkie or a zumba goddess.

I’m me. Leah.

I like long walks on the beach and a good book. I like furry puppies and kittens and lip gloss and chocolate. I enjoy time spent listening to music, writing (obviously), photography.

I do not enjoy:

Sweating

Running

Weight lifting

Strength training

Callenstetics

Making an Ass out of Myself

Or any combination of the above.  It’s not really my cup of tea …

But my friends and coworkers LOVE IT. They are clearly the insane ones, and somehow I’ve convinced myself that doing this is a good idea. So as I sit here, two full days before the dreaded “heat” I fear I may perish. I may be swallowed whole by mud pits who would spit me back out on the grounds that I am not the mud hero they seek but the mud zero they avoid.

They say you can do anything you put your mind to. I’ll let you know because I’m hard pressed to believe this.

I think in reality, my crossfit junkie teammates may find themselves getting a larger workout than they bargained for when they have to hoist my short self up and over walls and drag me through mud.

Ah well, it’s not like I didn’t warn them.

Stay tuned for part two of my mud hero post which will be AFTER the race. I’m sure I’ll be able to paint you all a lovely picture!
