A man in a red uniform smiled at Alastair. "Long time, no see! Did you work up an appetite out there?"

It was the man who had brought him and Honey those steaks!

He nodded.

"Would you like to eat with us, or did you have somewhere else in mind?"

"You guys have good food!"

Maggie chuckled. "So what would you like?"

Alastair squinted at the nearby white board. "Uh..."

"Forgot to bring your glasses, huh?" Maggie asked.

He nodded. "Haven't worn them in so long."

The man in the red uniform handed him a small menu.

She sighed. "You're lucky that you brought Honey with you."

'Yeah, he is!'

"Big headed puppy," Alastair mumbled.

She tilted her head. 'My head is big?'

The redhead giggled before turning his attention back to the menu.

Alastair looked over the menu. It had so many options! He wasn't familiar with most of the foods. He pointed at the bottom, where he saw the words hamburger steak.

The man in the red uniform smiled at Honey. "Isn't she a Golden Spaniel?"

Alastair furrowed his eyebrows. "Is she? I thought she was a Golden Retriever."

"She's on the smaller side, if she is," Maggie replied.

The man in the red uniform folded his arms. "Pretty sure of it. Isolde's neighbors have a couple. One's very white and fluffy."

Maggie's eyes widened. "I've seen it! His fur is like snow!"

'Snow?' Honey yipped. 'Snowy!'

"Your brother?" Alastair asked.

Honey hung her head. 'Maybe...'

Maggie looked at the redhead sideways. "Are you talking to her?"

"Yeah!" The boy smiled. "Honey talks like a human! Wonder why no one can hear animals but me." His gaze drifted skyward. "It was the same back home too."

Maggie said, "Maybe you're just imagining things."

Alastair grumbled. "Am not! Honey is talking to me!"

'Hmm, wonder why Human can speak Puppy. Oh, is it because kitty?'

The redhead. laughed. "That's just a nickname."

The man in the red uniform laughed as he started on the steak. "Want one for the puppy this time, too?"

Alastair nodded. "But a bit more red this time. Honey likes it raw."
