Makayla

I didn't know how much longer I could tolerate scooting my way down the road, all by myself, terrified of running into someone unpleasing. So, to take my mind off things, I came up with a game called numbers! It was basically where each number corresponded to a different letter, not in the normal order that they would be. Here, let's see if you, the reader, can decode this message using the key...

Key:

A- 10 B-18 C-1 D-9 E-2 F-26 G-11 H-17 I-3 J-12 K-4 L-14 M-13 N-25 O-5 P-24 Q-6 R-7 S-15 T-8 U-22 V-21 W-16 X-19 Y-20 Z-23 ***-Space

Figured them out? If you haven't, then try again! The answers will be at the very end of this story, along with a preview of the next one.

Anyways, I kept strolling down the streets, moving and turning and moving again, until I felt my phone vibrate.

"Hello?" I asked, answering the call from Faith.

"Hey! I checked Life360, we are less than half an hour away from each other!" She cried out, happily!

"Oh thank gosh! I've been so bored! I made up a game to solve my boredness!" I replied as she laughed.

"Stay where you are! I'll meet up with you!" She said. "I mean it! Don't you dare move."

"Okay..." I sighed, as I found a bench a few feet away from me and sat, playing numbers yet again.

After what felt like an eternity, Faith finally showed up. She looked like a train had attacked her. Mud all over her clothes and body, a few wounds, and her eyes were dead, like a doll's eyes.

"Sheesh, what happened to you?" I asked, perfectly clean with no wounds.

"Some kid attacked me on the way here, anyways, how was your ride?"

"Mine was pleasing, I'm assuming yours was not..." I said, laughing loudly.

"Oh, shut up!" She yelled, as she laughed also, "not my fault kids are idiots!"

We sat on the bench, dying of laughter, until our stomachs ached and breaths came in gasps.

"My oh my," I muttered, wiping tears from my eyes, "I missed you Faithie."

"I missed you too Makayla! Now where do we go?" She asked, as we realized there was no home that we knew or could trust anywhere near here.

"Well, our segway's are about to die, but there is a hotel down the road..." I suggested, pointing in the direction I had come from.

"Perfect! Let's go make sure nobody is in there though, wouldn't want to get attacked again." Faith replied, hopping on her segway and moving back towards the hotel I had pointed at, "Want to race?" She asked, stopping in her tracks.

"Oh, your on," I muttered, "Three two one go!"

"Hey! That's not fair!" She called behind me, as I sped off as fast as I could, "Get back here, you little cheater!"

I pulled up to the front doors of the hotel, and just laughed. Faith had the smuggest look on her face, and she hopped off.

"You little-" She said, as I burst out laughing even more, "I'm gonna say it, you little poop head."

She teased me out of the way, pulled on the doors, and opened them to complete silence, turning around to grab her stuff.

"Seems like we're sa-" I started.

And then, I turned around, facing the inside of the building. I couldn't believe what was before my eyes...
