Related to #7: Education System
This topic might not be related to everyone, but it's an important one to consider.
Just to use my world in "The Scepter of Tamido" as a base to explain:
Sorcerers must go through many different tests to even be called a master of magic (through potion making, sigil summoning, and self control). Depending on their level of magic education, they are given certain ranks. The highest rank (called Arch if you must know) is only achieved if you have mastered every rank prior. It could take up to a hundred years to get there. Not everyone tries to get there.
Back to you guys.
How do your apprentices or page boys become a master of something? (and what can they become a master of?)
How long does it take?
If they become a master of something, what do they need to do to keep that position? OR, once they've reached that master level, can they slack a bit?
