Great Swaying Giants

Forever standing still
Holding their place stubbornly
Strongest of all, their will
Infinity silent yet seeing everything
This land they used to fill
No longer do they occupy all

When the settlers came
They were struck down
The land they tried to tame
No longer do they hold their crown
Little known to them she is wild
Majestic titans, some tall
Some low to the ground

Will they one day speak ?
Revealing what is in their heart
Will they remain to themselves?
Of the land they make up the most part
Regrettable that many have died
In many ways they can be art

These gentle giants, home to many creatures
Some soar high above
Some scurry across the earth
Shown or not, for this world
They all have love
With the help of these living leviathans
On our lives shove

Giving everything
Only one thing they take
Great swaying giants
