(Author's Pov)

At the tender age of three, he arrived on Good Family Foster Home's doorstep, in nothing but a pair of matching Super Mario pajamas, black sneakers and an over sized jacket. Rain clashed down from the sky, beating against people's homes. He shivered, not understanding why one of his Uncle's friends had left him to stand outside a large home he had never seen before.

Was his Father waiting inside for him? Was the sad, hopeful thought pondering inside of his mind at the time.

Little did he know, his life would completely be reformed that night.

He was welcomed into the home by a nice woman, named Mrs Maroon. He was placed into a bedroom that he found himself sharing with another small boy named; Thomas, which made him smile and think of Thomas The Tank Engine. It suddenly became his new home. A place filled with strangers, little and older children just like himself all under the age of eighteen.

Everyday for the next year, Lucas wished his Uncle's friend would come pick him up from the new place he suddenly found himself living in. He hated it greatly and missed his father, his old home. But it never did happen. And sadly, eventually, Lucas found himself forgetting about his past life. It was almost as if none of it had happened.

Good Family Foster Home had become his new home in short period of time. His past life was eventually merely just a memory. As everyday away from his father passed, the image of his face slowly began to crumble away into... well - nothing.

Lucas was no longer the same little toddler he was when he was left outside Good Family Foster Home.

In-fact, he was rather a complicated, special boy. He didn't have many friends, not getting along with the people surrounding him and usually just liked to keep to himself. Some of the younger kids feared yet both looked up to him. The older boys mostly didn't pay him any attention and well the girls, he didn't want to associate with anyone with cooties.

That was until Nina Marie ended up joining the Foster Care home and suddenly he found himself making a friend. A best friend. Though Lucas was older than her by two years and wasn't much of a talkative person, the two developed a friendship that would continue to blossom as the years went by. The two inevitably became inseparable, always glued to each others sides, endlessly laughing or talking about anything and everything, neither of them able to last a single day without seeing each other.

But then suddenly, one day - everything changed. One day, when the two were laughing, talking nonsense with each other, they were forced apart. Suddenly the inseparable were separated. Separated with heartbreak, with memories that would do nothing but haunt their minds and aimlessly destroy everything they once had and knew.

Their lives were going to be completely alternated, neither of them knowing how impacting it would all be. The innocence and light that they once knew would no longer be. In a matter of years, they'd be forced to forget everything they had and knew. Forced to adjust to their new lives. One without each other.

It would all become shattered.
