17- Life Begins Where The Story Ends

"What are you doing outside? The party's cool. Besides, it's almost midnight. Just a few minutes before next year. You should enjoy this year's last moments," he said, taking the cigarette back from me. He took a long drag, before emptying his lungs one again.

"I like it outside. By the way, who decided partying was the only way of getting into a new year? I'd rather spend it out there. With you."

He smiled, only then turning his head to look at me. He finished the cigarette and threw it to the ground, before stepping on it. "Very well, then. Let's enjoy the end of this year together," he said, taking a hold of my hand. "You coming?"

He pulled me in the middle of the street, rain soaking our clothes in a matter of seconds. He laughed and pulled me close to him, putting his hands on the small of my back. His smile grew wider, making me crack a smile too. "You know it's raining, right?"

He shrugged, "I'm not complaining."

I scoffed, putting my arms around his neck. The street was deserted, probably because of the rain. Or because of how close midnight was. Everybody was probably busy looking for someone to kiss when midnight strikes, promissing a year of love and happiness. Personally, I had everything I needed right in front of me.

"You know, I'm kind of sad it's New Year's Eve already. I liked this year, I don't see why it as to end."

I laughed, "you know, time? Natural evolution of all things? The impossibility of living the same minte twice? Time?"

Brendon sighed, "I know, you complete dumbass. I would just like this year to continue. It was a good year, don't you think?"

I shrugged. Rain was getting heavier, and we were both completely soaked. I was getting a little cold, but Brendon's skin was warm. I hugged him tighter, his face burried in the crook of my neck, and mine just on top of his. "You're right. This year was pretty cool."

"Yeah. Kind of was."

I could feel his heart beating against my chest, his shoulders raising and falling steadily, as I felt  his warm breath against my collar bone. It felt so peaceful, the feelig of being completely alone in the entire world filling our chests, making shivers appear down my spine. I doubted having been so happy before. This man was my entire life. He was my moon, my stars, my ray of sunshine on cloudy days, and my sweetest dream on the darkest nights. I doubted I could ever tell him how much he meant to me.

Out of nowhere, we heard the people in the club scream and shout, as the rain just kept falling on the two of us. "TEN!"

Brendon smirked, "this is it."

"NINE!"

I smiled, "yeah."

"EIGHT!"

He took my hand, "I wish we could stay like this forever-"

"SEVEN!"

"- with only ourselves to worry about-"

"SIX!"

"- with no one but the two of us. Eternity."

"FIVE!"

I grinned, "Eternity is pretty long."

"FOUR!"

He shrugged.

"THREE!"

I placed a hand on the side of his face, "I wouldn't mind living for an eternity."

"TWO!"

He raised an eyebrow, "really?"

"ONE!"

I nodded, "as long as I spend it with you."

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

The people club behind us screamed loud, a mix of "happy new year" in different languages, but none of that mattered to me. Brendon held my gaze, my soul literally drowning in the brown of his eyes. His lips softly met mine, creating sparkles all over my body. I felt like a teenager all over again, kissing a secret lover in a dark alley. The kiss wasn't hungry, it wasn't rushed, nor dirty. It was simply... Full of love. It was tender and soft, delicate with a whole lot of passion. We had shared many kisses in our life, and we would share many more. But, this one was just... Perfect. In every possible way. It was perfect.

"Happy new year, Ryan."

I smiled, "happy new year, Brendon."

Our lips met again, and this time, I wished they would never part.

...

(A.N.: Dear lord... So, it's over, my friends. I know not so many people read this, but I want to thank each and everyone of you for reading the stuff I write. I know the beginning of this story was pretty horrible (to me, the whole first book is horrid. Might re-write it someday), but the ending is very meaningful to me. I think this is the whole point of the story. And I don't want you guys to think this is over. Because it isn't. No , there will not be a third book, and no, I will not make any more chapters for this story (except for an epilogue coming up in a few days, hopefully), but this doesn't mean the story is over. Ryan and Brendon don't need their life to be written. You can create your own sequel to this, make up a whole new story with these two. It's not because I end the book that they don't keep living. If I had to write their entire life, I guess I would make them stay together forever. If that's what suits you, here, you have it. This is probably what I like the most about writing; the reader gets the right to imagine the rest of the story however they want it.

I'm obviously going to keep writing. My comprehension of the English language gets better everyday, and I absolutely love sharing the craziest things on my mind with you guys. I'm going to keep writing, and I truly hope people are going to keep reading my stories, because what is a writer without readers? Everything I write is for you, and I hope my stories make you just a fraction of how happy they make me. Everything I write comes from the bottom of my heart, and if I could make everyone happy, I would. At the beginning of all this, I used to write to get my mind off of my real life, and just become someone else for a little while. I never thought people would actually end up reading my stuff, let alone enjoying it.

So, thank you all for your awesomeness and your support, you guys are amazing. And remember, life begins where the story ends.)
