Her mothers voice echoed through her head. She knew that the woman was right, and even in death she still managed to give Alexandria the advice she needed; even if she didn't want it.

Alex knew that she liked the Joker, more than she would care to admit, but she knew that the feeling was there; as much as she denied it to herself and others if ever asked. But, she couldn't help but want to ignore these emotions, to push them out of her body and allow herself to hate the man before her, for not only kidnapping her, but for killing the man she loved.

Loved?

Alex realized that the word she had used was indeed 'Loved', instead of loves. She knew then that she no longer felt the same way she did when she was younger about Jack, that emotion was gone and instead was beginning to formulate for someone else; someone she couldn't help but force herself to hate herself for liking, the Joker.

'Sometimes it's better to follow what you feel you should, then what you think you should.'

Alex sighed at her mothers voice yet again echoing through her head, the sentence haunting her. She knew what her mother was saying was right, but whether or not she wanted to follow it was up to her.

Why are you tormenting yourself Al?

She could hear her voice say in her head.

Why are you forcing yourself to not feel these emotions?

Alex sat in her car seat baffled at what the voice had said;

Why am I forcing myself to not feel these emotions?

Alex shifted her eyes over to the Joker who sat calmly in his seat, quiet as a mouse as he drove through the streets of this unknown town seemingly aimlessly; but Alex knew better than to think that.

Why can't I just give in?

She questioned.

Because you'll get hurt.

Alex closed her eyes and hit her head against the headrest of the seat she sat in, allowing her aching head to sit there as she ran through her thoughts.
